Have you thought about planning your 2023 trip to Disney World yet?

Walt Disney World Railroad train

Now is a good time to start, and we’ve got plenty of tips to help you out — from dining to hotels, to how to avoid long lines in the parks! We do our best to stay up to date with the latest and greatest happenings from around Disney World, so let’s take a look at all the construction updates you might have missed this week!

Magic Kingdom

Center Street

The Center Street refurbishment looks like it’s almost done — nearly all the bricks have been laid, so chances are mortar and final touches are next. There is still seating available at the end of the street, it’s accessible via the sidewalks instead.

Bricks are laid!

Disney hasn’t shared its plans for this area or when this refurbishment might be complete, so stay tuned for the latest news and updates.

TRON: Lightcycle Run

Things are getting busier and busier over at TRON: Lightcycle Run. Last week, we saw greenery, trees, and shrubs move into the area, and now it looks like some light posts have been installed as well.

We got a rainy day close-up of the ramp that runs beneath the canopy recently, and you can see the vertical lights lining the railing on either side of the ramp on in the rain!

Progress appears to be moving quickly in anticipation of that spring 2023 opening date!

EPCOT

CommuniCore Hall and Plaza

There’s construction equipment as far as the eye can see over in the middle of EPCOT. CommuniCore Hall is taking shape over on the left, and it looks like crews are still working on clearing out a majority of the area where CommuniCore Plaza will be.

CommuniCore Plaza

For now, you’ll still have to go alllllll the way around either side of this construction to make your way through the rest of EPCOT.

Journey of Water – Inspired by Moana

We’re starting to see some outer concrete walls go up surrounding the new Moana-themed attraction. Crews have been working on adding details to each of the rock sculptures, including shading, shaping, and adding green algae.

More Moana construction

All of the various parts are starting to get connected to each other, and more practical elements have been added, including what looks to be lighting for the pathway. We’ll keep you updated with more changes at this attraction!

Disney Resort Hotels

Polynesian Resort

A big ol’ pile of dirt is about all that’s going on at the Polynesian Resort expansion — for now anyway! The land has been cleared and it looks like additional dirt has been brought in, which hopefully means construction will begin soon.

This area is the future home of a brand new Disney Vacation Club tower at the Poly, which will feature new rooms, dining options, and merchandise locations. The new tower is expected to open in 2024!

Grand Floridian

You’ll find scaffolding almost as far as the eye can see over at Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort. Several rooms are being renovated in the same Mary Poppins theming we saw in the newly refurbished DVC villas!
