We just got a MAJOR UPDATE about a NEW perk coming to Disney World hotel rooms!
Hey, Disney!
Disney previously announced that new “Hey, Disney!” Alexa devices would be installed in Disney World and Disneyland hotel rooms in 2022. With the year’s end rapidly approaching, we were beginning to doubt the timeline for this project, but now there’s finally some progress happening. See which hotel will get “Hey Disney!” devices FIRST here.
DFB reader @bradster1325 on Instagram sent us a picture of a notice they received while staying at Disney World’s Polynesian Village Resort. The letter states, “In select Disney Resort hotel rooms, we are testing a new magical interactive smart speaker called ‘Hey, Disney!’. Cast Members may be entering your Guest Room for a short period of time between the hours of 9:00am and 4:00pm to install ‘Hey, Disney!‘.”

It sounds like the “Hey, Disney!” devices are still in the testing stages, but it’s exciting to see some progress on this update at the Disney hotels. If you’re staying at Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort soon, you may get a “Hey, Disney!” device in your room. We’ll continue to watch for the devices to appear at other hotels as well.
Hey, Disney!
When the devices are all installed, they will be “custom voice assistants” for guests staying at Disney World and Disneyland hotels. They’ll be able to assist guests with room amenities, guest services, planning tips, weather information, and more.

For example, you’ll be able to ask the device for extra towels, blankets, or pillows, and a Cast Member will bring them to your room. “Hey, Disney!” will also be able to answer questions like “What time does EPCOT open?”
Disney Trivia
Here are some other things that “Hey, Disney!” can do:
- Tell you when the next bus to a specific park or Disney Springs is scheduled to arrive at your hotel
- Make dining recommendations
- Tell you the day’s weather forecast
- Tell you Disney-themed jokes
- Ask Disney trivia questions
- Create soundscapes that will transport you into the worlds of your favorite characters with ambient sounds and music
