Have you been keeping up with the new Disney+ series The Santa Clauses?

A spin-off of the classic Santa Clause movie series, this new show just finished airing its first season. And apparently, it was a success!
Disney just announced the festive series is being renewed for a second season! Tim Allen and Elizabeth Mitchell reprise their roles from the movies as Mr. and Mrs. Claus respectively, and they’ll need to keep their sled polished for when shooting begins on the next season.

The show follows Scott Calvin (Allen), current Santa Claus, who has now been performing his Christmas duties for almost 30 years. Unfortunately, he is losing his Santa magic because people don’t care about Christmas as much as they used to. In season 1 we saw him struggle with balancing work and family life, as many working parents do (although not all of their jobs come with a factory of elves or reindeer!)

The first season left off with Scott trying to figure out whether he should leave his post to focus on his family, and if he did, who would be a worthy successor? Now, fans don’t have to worry about these questions remaining unanswered. Season 1 premiered on November 16th, and while we don’t know the timeline for season 2, we hope it’s announced soon so we can find out what’s in store next for Scott, his family, and Christmas!
