The Cake Bake Shop by Gwendolyn Rogers will be taking over the former ESPN Club building at Disney’s BoardWalk next year. ESPN Club signage was removed months ago and now some walls have come down so we can see the gutted interior.
The Cake Bake Shop will utilize the same building shape, but with different kinds of windows and two entrances.
Paneling has been ripped from the building’s original entrance.
Insulation pokes through steel supports.
Under the slanted roof, we can see straight into the empty building.
The Cake Bake Shop will include a table-service restaurant and a quick-service bakery with sweet and savory options. There will also be an afternoon tea service.
Above is where the second entrance, to the restaurant, will be.
The roof shingles have seen better days, so will likely be replaced later.
Some of the gutter was torn off with the walls.
The edges of the building look rough for now, but when completed, they will be lined with lights.
According to concept art, windows will also be added to the octagon tower.
Here is the concept art for the interior. Awnings will hang over the bakery entrance and windows of the restaurant. Planters will border outdoor seating.
Although this photo is the interior of an existing The Cake Bake Shop, we can see what guests should expect when Disney’s BoardWalk location opens.
