The Dining CHANGE You Need to Be Prepared for in Disney World on Christmas

Planning to visit Disney World on Christmas Day? Hoping to get your favorite item off of the typical restaurant menu? Well…you better be careful!

What do you think of Disney World’s food?

There are a lot of things to be prepared for when it comes to visiting Disney World during the holidays — crowds, parking adjustments, difficulting grabbing dining reservations, and more. But there’s another small (but important) thing that happens around the holidays that you need to be aware of.

If you’ll be visiting Disney World around Christmas Day and plan on dining at a restaurant during your time there, take a CLOSE look at that restaurant’s online menu.

Some Disney World restaurants can make adjustments to their menus around the holidays. Sometimes that’s a fun adjustment — like the addition of a unique holiday meal to the regular menu. But sometimes that menu adjustment might LIMIT the menu options you’ll have access to.

For example, if you were planning to eat at Steakhouse 71 within Disney’s Contemporary Resort on Christmas Day and get something from their lunch menu, you may be out of luck. The Steakhouse 71 website notes that on Christmas Day, the restaurant will NOT offer its lunch menu.

Instead, there will be selections from the breakfast menu served until 11AM, and the dinner menu will be served from 11:30AM to 10PM.

Steakhouse 71 does have different options on its lunch vs. dinner menu. Lunch has more casual things like the delicious Stack Burger, as well as steak “frites,” and a turkey club. The dinner menu, on the other hand, is more of a steak-focused menu with various steakhouse cuts available.

When one of our team members visited Steakhouse 71 on Thanksgiving Day for lunch, a similar system was in place — where the dinner menu was put in place earlier in the day. But, during their visit, they were able to order the Stack Burger during lunchtime, even though it is technically not on the dinner menu. The Cast Member noted that this dish was an exception to the menu change. Check to see if a similar arrangement is in place during your trip.

French Onion Soup — Look at that cheesy goodness!

While Steakhouse 71 is one spot where we’ve seen this change made this year, it’s possible that menu changes like this will be put in place on Christmas Day at other spots in Disney World, so (again) be sure to check those menus ahead of your visit.
