Wait Times Are Surprisingly Low in Magic Kingdom Today

So it’s probably no secret that the holiday season brings serious crowds to Disney World. That also means some seriously high wait times.

Granted, we haven’t seen as many crowds as we expected recently, but we have seen high wait times. And today, the EPCOT crowds are HEFTY!! On the flip side of that, things are a little…different in Magic Kingdom. The park that generally has the HIGHEST wait times has some relatively low wait times today!

First, we’re going to point out that park pass availability at Magic Kingdom today (actually, for ALL four parks) at Disney World is completely gone.

So one might expect that the wait times for rides in Magic Kingdom, generally the busiest theme park, would be high. But that’s not entirely the case. Astro Orbiter and Barn Stormer have respectable 30 minute waits.

Mad Tea Party also only has a 30 minute wait, while The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh only has a 35-minute wait.

It’s only a 15-minute wait for Mickey’s PhilharMagic, while Monsters, Inc. Laugh Floor has just a 25-minute wait.

PeopleMover’s wait is at a low 20-minute wait (although we saw it at one point at just 5 minutes!).

Granted, the more popular rides still have higher wait times, but not like we would’ve expected. Big Thunder Mountain (which will close soon for a refurbishment) is at 80 minutes, while Haunted Mansion is 60 minutes, Jingle Cruise is 85 minutes, and Seven Dwarfs Mine Train is 120 minutes.

If the more popular rides are a priority with wait times like these, we might recommend purchasing Genie+ and buying the Individual Lightning Lane option for those rides that offer it.

Regardless, if you’re at Disney World today with a park pass reservation at Magic Kingdom, you’re probably dealing with shorter lines than at EPCOT, which is showing high wait times for almost everything (60 minutes for Gran Fiesta Tour?!?!?!!).
