Somebody Give Us a Rooftop — We’re Ready to Shout the Praises of This EPCOT Festival of the Arts Booth!

You’ve had a BLT sandwich before right? Want about a french onion soup or a key lime pie? These are familiar dishes you may have had once, twice, or dozens of times before. But you’ve probably NEVER seen them like THIS.

Deconstructed Dish

At the EPCOT 2023 Festival of the Arts, you can try all kinds of unique items — from mussels to flan. But one particular booth — The Deconstructed Dish — is totally changing how you’re presented with some classic eats!

Menu

The time to eat has ARRIVED. For this booth review, we’re heading to The Deconstructed Dish to check out a whole bunch of eats and drinks!

Deconstructed Dish Menu

At Deconstructed Dish, you’ll see items plated and arranged in a way that’s totally unlike their “normal” arrangement. All of the items here are returning this year, but if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it, right? Let’s see just how these dishes hold up!

Eats

We’ll start things off with the Deconstructed BLT. This dish is made with Pork belly, soft-poached egg, onion bread pudding, watercress espuma, and tomato jam, and is priced at $7.

Though this item is returning, the description is a bit different. The brioche is missing and it appears that in its place is an onion bread pudding. So it looks like there was a slight change there.

Deconstructed BLT

This has been a standout dish in the past at the festival, and it’s playing to WIN again this year! The elements are yummy individually but all together, the flavors are spectacular! The tomato jam adds a little bit of sweetness, which complements the other salty and savory flavors.

Next, we move to the Deconstructed French Onion Soup, which was a new item in 2022 and has returned for this year. The dish is made with Beef broth ravioli, gruyère cream  (in 2022 that was described as espuma instead of cream), onion bread pudding, and onion textures. This one is priced at $6.50.

The presentation certainly challenges what you think you know about French Onion Soup, which is fun. But we have to tell you that we were blown away by it this year!

It’s beautiful and creative, but also delicious. When you cut into the ravioli pocket it packs a punch full of flavor, especially onion. This is definitely one of the best things we’ve had at the fest this year!

Finally, the remaining dish is the Deconstructed Key Lime Pie. This was also new in 2022 and has returned in 2023. The dish is made with a Flexible Key lime curd, “Key lime” mousse, graham cracker cake, and meringues. It’s priced at $6.25.

TIP! This dish is on the Wonderful Walk of Colorful Cuisine — a food challenge you can participate in while at the Festival of the Arts. If you buy 5 of the 7 participating items in the Colorful Cuisine experience, you can then get a free prize. So just keep that in mind as you place your orders!

Deconstructed Key Lime Pie at The Deconstructed Dish

Okay, we know that we already raved about the other two things we ate here, but this one tops them ALL! The elements are all amazing separately and together, and that lime mousse is perfectly light and refreshing. Also, it’s perhaps the prettiest thing you’ll ever eat.

And that’s a look at the food, now let’s move to drinks!

Drinks

All of the drinks at the booth are also returning items this year. First up we have the Deconstructed Apple Pie à la Mode. This non-alcoholic drink was new in 2022 and has returned in 2023. It features Apple-cinnamon gelato, cinnamon apple cider, apple pie filling, and streusel, and is $4.50.

We had high hopes for this one, but unfortunately, it fell flat when we tried it in 2022. It mostly tasted like an apple seltzer with a crumble on top, which was…bizarre? It did come in a booth-branded souvenir cup in 2022 though, so that was a nice touch!

The final drink here is the Wicked Weed Brewing Blank Canvas Belgian Blonde Witbier. You can get 6oz for $5.50 or 12oz for $9.50.

OVERALL

Okay, is this booth taking home the gold? Maybe so! Everything we ate here in 2023 was a must-try in our opinion, ESPECIALLY that dessert. They’re all plated so uniquely that it’s just fun to try your favorite foods deconstructed. Don’t skip on The Deconstructed Dish this year — seriously, trust us!
