5 Things You Must do Before Leaving Magic Kingdom

Magic Kingdom is huge and can sometimes be overwhelming with the crowds that wander throughout the park. Planning vacation days at Disney has been slightly confusing recently due to changes like Disney Genie+. If you are struggling to plan out the perfect day at Magic Kingdom, here are five things guests must do before ending their day.

Take a Ride on the Walt Disney World Railroad

This attraction was closed for over four years and is finally up and running. This is the most relaxing way to see the park, and it’s a great way to get a different perspective since we are all used to navigating the streets. Not only is it a fun ride, but it’s a great mode of transportation to reach other sections of the park. You can hop on at the Main Street Station once you are done exploring that area and get off at the next stop, Frontierland.

I have vivid memories as a kid running all over Fantasyland, and when we were all tuckered out, we boarded the train at the station in that section of the park. The minute I sat down, I would fall asleep, which forced my family to spend nap time on the train.

Enjoy a Ride on a Classic Attraction

Magic Kingdom is filled with classic attractions, so it may be hard to ride all of them in one day. I always tell friends and family who visit that they must at least ride one while there.

Classic Attractions

  • Pirates of the Caribbean
  • The Haunted Mansion
  • Carousel of Progress
  • The Enchanted Tiki Room
  • “it’s a small world”
  • Peter Pans Flight

My go-to for each visit is Pirates of the Caribbean. It has been my favorite since I was a kid, and I have many fond memories of the attraction. Which classic attraction would you pick?

Watch the Parade

Festival of Fantasy is filled with bright colors, fantastic music, and fan-favorite characters. Right now, it runs twice a day, and times vary depending on the season. The parade route starts in Frontierland and ends on Main Street, U.S.A., offering plenty of viewing spots.

I enjoy watching from the start of the parade because I feel like that’s when the performers have the most energy. It is cool to watch them come through the gate and kick off the parade. Now when Happily Ever After returns in April, I would say watch that firework show instead of the parade if you only have time for one of these.

Walk Through the Cinderella Castle

I promise you there is nothing more magical than walking through Cinderella Castle. While walking through, whether headed to Fantasyland or Main Street, you can see the most beautiful mosaics. This is also an excellent spot for photos or even proposals. At times the walkway might be closed due to the castle stage show, so be aware of that.

Meet a Character

Ever since meet and greets returned to the parks, there have been plenty of opportunities to meet a character while visiting Magic Kingdom. To make the moment even more special, I would suggest bringing an autograph book or something of that nature for them to sign.

Meet & Greets

  • Aladdin & Jasmine – Adventureland
  • Anastasia & Drizella – Cinderella Fountain
  • Captain Jack Sparrow – Adventureland
  • Chip & Dale – Storybook Circus
  • Cinderella, Elena, Tiana & Rapunzel – Princess Fairytale Hall
  • Daisy, Donald, Minnie & Goofy – Pete’s Silly Side Show
  • Merida – Fairytale Garden
  • Mickey Mouse – Town Square Theater
  • Peter Pan – Fantasyland
  • Snow White – Town Square Theater Porch
