Friday’s Disney Parks live stream, direct from Disneyland in California, was hosted by the incredible Juju Green, who kept the magic alive through interviews, cross-overs, and more than a few technical disasters throughout the broadcast. Let’s take a look at all the magic Disneyland has to offer during the Disney100 Celebration.
After a heartfelt introduction and dedication to the heart and soul of the Disneyland experience, its cast members, the focus turned to a celebration of history. As part of the celebration, an incredible showing of exhibits filled the screen, including the days before Disneyland opened and an animator’s desk.
A ‘Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow’ exhibit showcases everything that leads up to the park’s upcoming 70th anniversary, current attractions being worked on, along with the creative process that brings an attraction to life.
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway Opening
Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway opening was shown next as cast members previewed it. Imagineers, including Jeffrey Shaver-Moskowitz, offer background details on how the attraction came to life, saying the process starts with a story, and the attraction is developed from there. The ride celebrates the history of Mickey just in time for the 100th celebration, and we take an inside tour of what to expect through the queuing area and into the attraction.
Take a look around Disneyland’s 100th Anniversary Decorations
It’s time to check out some of the new stylings around Disneyland Park as the purple and silver tones take hold. The 100th Anniversary makeover is now complete as flags line the streets and the Castle shimmers. Let’s see some of the embellishments that can be found around the park.
The Disneyland Dapper Dans Perform
What would a Disneyland event even be without a performance from the Dapper Dans? Sure enough, here they are to wow us with their incredible talent, ending their performance with a beautiful version of When You Wish Upon A Star.
New Food Items for the Disneyland Celebration of the 100th Anniversary
It seems that Juju Green can’t get his mind off the new Disney snacks coming to the parks, and we can see why! We take a look at some of the fantastic new food items previously announced as part of the celebration.
Magic Happens Disneyland Parade
The well-loved Magic Happens parade is coming back to Disneyland on February 24th. This was my favorite part of the broadcast which took a specific look a the new floats that are coming to the parade as well as a behind-the-scenes look at how the show came together. We got to see special footage of all the work that goes into bringing it to Main Street, U.S.A. Costumes, dance rehearsals, special effects for floats, and all the things we take for granted were shown. As an ex-dancer, I loved the look into choreography, especially.
Nighttime Spectacular World of Color ONE – Disneyland California Adventure
Nighttime shows were up next, looking at World of Color ONE debuts tonight at the Disneyland California Adventure Park. We got to meet some of the people behind the incredible show as they explained what was new and exciting about the new version. New techniques have been used to connect the visual experience with the music and effects.
Nighttime Spectacular Wonderous Journeys – Disneyland Park
So many details were shared about the new show Wonderous Journeys, looking at everything from the history of the stories included through to the Imagineers, producers, and directors that brought this fantastical adventure to life. MagicBands participate in the show with haptic responses so you can feel the show through your band for an all-new sensory experience.
The Disneyland Band
The broadcast wrapped up with a fantastic show from The Disneyland Band playing classic Disney hits as the sun began to dip in the background. What a spectacular end to a lengthy and beautiful event that certainly had me ready to book tickets.
