In a cryptic tweet, Universal Studios Japan said that a new experience will be coming soon to The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.
In the first tweet, which features the image of Harry flying over Hogsmeade and is the stock photo for the Japan version of the land, it says “The world of magic never stops. This spring, a magical new experience awakens in The Wizarding World of Harry Potter.”
The Follow-up Tweet said “In Hogwarts Castle, those who enter are greeted by the Sorting Hat portraits which speak.
The final tweet shows the park’s standard stock image for Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey and reads “Above and below, the excitement never stops when you ride Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey.”
While some took to Twitter to speculate about what’s coming, the most likely answer seems to be an official return of the projection shows on Hogwarts Castle, which haven’t been seen since February 28, 2020 when the park closed due to COVID-19.
One guest spotted projection mapping testing this week on the Hogwarts Castle, giving credence to the return of projection shows.
An official announcement on the show’s return and potential updates are expected on Wednesday.
