The EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival Booth You Can Probably SKIP

Fair warning, what you’re about to read may make you want to get in your car and immediately drive to EPCOT.

Tangierine Cafe

Why? Because the 2023 EPCOT International Flower and Garden Festival has officially begun! We’ve got plenty of food booths with tasty items to check out, plus beautiful topiaries to see, merchandise to shop, and concerts to watch. But first, we’re heading to Tangierine Cafe: Flavors of the Medina!

Menu

We’ve got some returning and two NEW dishes at this booth, with returning drinks as well. We’re especially interested in that Orange Blossom-Saffron Cake!

Now that we’ve taken a look at the menu, let’s dive into the food itself!

Eats

First up is the Grilled Kebabs, which come with a Carrot-Chickpea Salad and Garlic Aïoli for $6.25.

You can get the kebab as either Harissa Chicken or Lamb Kefta. We decided to try one of each to compare them to what we’ve had in the past (which we’ve enjoyed!) The Harissa Chicken has good flavor, and it’s a great option if you’re looking for some protein. It’s not too spicy, but does have that spiced flavor!

Grilled chicken Kebab

The Lamb Kebab was DELICIOUS when we last had it! In the past, we’ve found the lamb to have a TON of flavor. This time was no different as it had even more flavor than the chicken option, and we really love that Carrot Chickpea Salad — it’s refreshing and different. The carrots provide a nice crunch and the chickpeas are really tasty. The dressing on the slaw was light and refreshing too!

Lamb Kefta

New to the festival this year is the Hummus Trio for $5.25! You get traditional hummus, red beet and black garlic hummus, and avocado-herb hummus with Moroccan bread and crispy papadam. We’ve loved the breads-and-dips we’ve had here before, so we’re excited to give this a try.

We’re sorry to say that we didn’t love this! We’ve had better bread and dips here before, and the hummus didn’t taste fresh but more like something you could get from the grocery store. The avocado and herb hummus was the most flavorful and the one we’d choose if we had to pick. The traditional hummus lacked flavor, and the beet and black garlic one was heavy on the beets and not on the garlic.

Hummus Trio

Of course, it’s not a balanced meal without dessert — and that’s where the Orange Blossom-Saffron Cake comes in. You can grab this for $5. We weren’t sure what to expect from this cake, but it was a lot nuttier tasting than what we thought it would be! We were expecting a fruity flavor, but it reminded us more of a nutty, almond-paste flavor.

The thick raspberry syrup on the bottom was actually the star here. It’s a decent-sized portion and overall pretty fine, but nothing that will be making out Best of the Fest list this year!

But, you’ll also find some pretty delectable-looking drinks at this booth too!

Drinks

One of our favorite returning drinks is the Pomegranate Mimosa for $11. This one had a very strong pomegranate flavor when we had it last year, but it’s rather refreshing if you’re a pomegranate fan. Our had a lot of syrup this year, but if you’re looking for something fruity and bubbly, this might be it.

Pomegranate mimosa

We also grabbed the Cider Flight for $10, which comes with three different hard ciders! We thought these were all pretty great.

Cider Flight

The Keel Farms Strawberry Hard Cider was the fruitiest of the three, so if you like sweet ciders we’d pick this one. The Bold Rock Tangerine Hard Cider was pretty subtle — there wasn’t too much citrus or tangerine, just a hint. And the 3 Daughters Brewing Pomegranate Hard Cider was our favorite.

Whet your whistle!

You can also grab these ciders individually for $5.5o/6oz or $9.50/12oz.

OVERALL

If spice and flavor are what you’re after, then we’d recommend stopping by Tangierine Cafe while you’re at the EPCOT Flower and Garden Festival! Our favorite was the cider flight, but overall this booth was just kinda “meh.” The new cake wasn’t anything special, and neither was the hummus trio. We enjoyed the kebabs, but we’ve had them before and would love to see something new and exciting here next time!

That’s it for this booth, but there’s a LOT more where that came from!
