*NEW* Muffuletta Panini with Ham, Salami, Mortadella, Provolone and Swiss with Olive Salad – $6.00

This just tastes like a mortadella sandwich. The olives give it a kick of flavor. The bread is crispy and looks burnt but has a perfect consistency. It is very spicy.

The olive salad adds a lot. It elevates the sandwich. The olives give it a kick of flavor, and the spice adds another level to the flavor profile. This sandwich is also a great size.

This is great for sharing and is a great price.

Spicy Chicken Gumbo with Andouille Sausage and BEN’S ORIGINAL Long Grain & Wild Rice – $6.25

Don’t let the appearance fool you. This is probably one of the better dishes, if not the best one, at the festival. There was definitely a kick of spice in the right places. The roux was nice and dark, which is common in more authentic gumbos because that means it’s been cooked down longer. It was hearty with decent portions of chicken and gumbo. We loved this.

*NEW* Crawfish Pie – $6.75

This has so much flavor! There are a lot of spices. It reminds us of fish gumbo.

The buttery pastry is the perfect complement, and there are sizeable chunks of crawfish underneath.

The fish dishes in the American pavilion are usually always good, and this is one of the best at the festival this year.

*NEW* Bananas Foster Bread Pudding – $4.75

This reminded us of the monkey bread from River Belle Terrace in Disneyland. It tastes like a bread pudding with some banana flavoring. The parts soaked with caramel sauce are great.

It is dry deep in the cake. A normal bread pudding with vanilla ice cream is usually a little runnier than this.

We wouldn’t say don’t try it, but it’s not the best. It pairs fine with the other two new items.

Bayou Cocktail: Bayou Spiced Rum ($18/bottle), Coconut Rum, Fruit Punch, and Orange Juice – $12.00

This was a basic concoction, but we really enjoyed it. It was nicely balanced between both rums, fruit juice, and orange juice. Tropical and delicious, it tasted like Mardi Gras to us. As far as premixed cocktails are concerned, this is one of the better options at the festival. Grab one of these, sit back, and let the good times roll!

*NEW* Central 28 Beer Co. Pretty Things Ale, Debary, FL – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

Wicked Weed Brewing Day Light American Light Ale, Asheville, NC (4.1% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

Wicked Weed Brewing describes this as “a crisp, refreshing, daytime beer. At only 105 calories, you can enjoy a guilt free drinking session.”

Parish Brewing Co. Ghost in the Machine Double IPA, Broussard, LA (8.5% ABV) – $5.50 for 6 oz., $9.50 for 12 oz.

From Parish Brewing Co.: “Welcome to the future. Our collective human consciousness, or Ghost in the Machine, has gained a tolerance for hops beyond what mankind has ever known before. This double India Pale Ale is the necessary outcome. Brewed with obscene quantities of hand-selected Citra hops from our favorite farm in Yakima Valley, WA. Expect pungent grapefruit aromas and flavors, tropical fruit, and less harsh bitterness than most IIPAs.”
