Part of the Disney100 celebration is looking back on the achievements of the last 100 years. A significant portion of that progress has come from the Disney Parks, despite not being introduced to guests until 1955. Many of us here have been lucky enough to share that Disney Park magic, adding memory after memory to the bank of cherished moments we share with our families.
Every time this topic comes up, I seem to remember another ‘best’ moment of my time in the parks; the truth is there are so many to choose from that I will likely always have a different answer. Most of my answers are personal, time shared with my grandparents who have passed, or with my children who have grown to love the tradition as much as I do; however, watching the video below from Disney reminded me of those back-to-basics memories that are right up there with the specific ones.
Disney asked some of the biggest stars in their fold to disclose their favorite moment, and listening to their answers; I was taken back in time to a core memory that I hadn’t shed light on in years. Honestly, I don’t remember the first time I saw the castle in Disneyland; it’s a travesty, I know. Though I do remember the first time I walked through the old Disneyland car park, where California Adventure now stands, moving towards this booming soundtrack of wonder, mystery, and beauty that felt like it was drawing you into a hug, pulling you forward towards the park. Once it had you in a trance of enchantment, you couldn’t steer off course even if you wanted to. Now that is magic.
See what some of your favorite Disney and Marvel stars had to say in response to this question:
Tell me about your favorite Disney memory. It can be the first or last one in the parks or even from the comfort of your own home.
