Sneak Peek Inside Reimagined Mickey’s Toontown Including Minnie’s House, Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard, and Chip & Dale’s Gadget Coaster

Disney has given a sneak peek into the reimagined Mickey’s Toontown at Disneyland before it opens this Sunday, March 19.

In an interview with the Orange County Register, Imagineers discussed the redesign, noting that they wanted Toontown to be “decompressing and welcoming.” They repainted the land with calm in mind and brought in more greenery.

They also specifically noted that guests found it hard to find shade in Toontown’s previous iteration and tried to add shady trees to compensate.

Minnie’s House is largely the same, and has been refreshed with a much-needed coat of paint.

Goofy’s House is now part of Goofy’s How-To-Play Yard with interactive elements throughout, such as a musical bridge, Fort Max, and a hill with roller slides.

Donald’s Boat is “flooding” and while this means guests can’t go inside, it’s now a water play area.

Gadget’s Go Coaster is now Chip ‘n’ Dale’s Gadget Coaster. Pictured above is Chip shooting water over the track.

The land will also have a new lighting package at night. While it will still have to close during fireworks, it will reopen with lighting designed to “look really beautiful at night in a whole new way that you’re not used to seeing the land come to life.”

This includes a special “goodnight kiss” at the CenTOONial Park fountain with half an hour of water, light, and music before the park’s nighttime spectaculars.
