A “Percy Jackson and the Olympians” series is set to come to Disney+ in 2024 and we’ve provided updates about the show in the past. But today’s update is a truly unfortunate one as a member of this show’s cast has died.

Variety has shared that Lance Reddick has passed away of “natural causes” at the age of 60. Reddick had been cast to guest star as Zeus in the Disney+ Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Zeus had been described as “The all-powerful god of the sky and leader of Mount Olympus, Zeus is tempestuous and mistrustful. He’s promised to wage a war if his stolen thunderbolt is not returned.”

Reddick is known for his starring role in “The Wire” on HBO, and his role as Charon in the “John Wick” movie franchise. Reddick reprises his role as Charon in the upcoming “John Wick: Chapter 4” which will hit theaters on March 24th.

Reddick was born in Baltimore and studied music and composition. He then earned a Master of Fine Arts from Yale, and went on to play Detective Johnny Basil in the HBO drama “Oz.” Reddick has also done work in “Fringe,” Amazon’s “Bosch” series, “Resident Evil” on Netflix, and more. Video game fans will recognize him as the voice of Sylens from “Horizon: Zero Dawn” and “Horizon: Forbidden West.”
