Come With Us to Try EVERYTHING at Magic Kingdom’s Newest Snack Spot!

It’s time to head back into the Grid — for snacks!

TRON Lightcycle / Run

Disney previously shared that TRON Lightcycle / Run would have an early opening for guests from March 20th to April 2nd. This means the virtual queue and individual lightning lanes were also available and while that was no surprise, the opening of a new food stand was! So you know we had to give it a full review.

Over in Magic Kingdom in Tomorrowland, guests can now find TRON Lightcycle / Run, the newest attraction in Disney World. Luckily for us, guests can also now find Energy Bytes. Energy Bytes is a snack stand to the left of the attraction featuring several small snacks and drinks and you know we had to try them all.

NEW Energy Bytes stand

We were super excited when Disney released this menu because of the different variety of sweet snacks, drinks, and savory dumplings!

Here’s the menu!

First, we grabbed the Buffalo Chicken Dumplings for $8.49. These dumplings featured buffalo chicken, celery, and dehydrated blue cheese all in a cayenne pepper broth.

Buffalo chicken dumplings!

These dumplings were hot and spicy almost immediately. The buffalo flavor wasn’t as strong as we anticipated and there is a generous portion of chicken. The blue cheese added a nice creamy texture but the sauce reminded us more of a spicy marinara than a buffalo.

a look inside!

If you love a spicy marinara sauce and creamy blue cheese, try these out, if not, steer clear. Overall, we really liked them!

Overall, we really liked them! Next up, we tried out the Beef and Broccoli Digital Dumplings for $8.79! These dumplings were made up of beef dumplings with broccoli pesto, crispy garlic, and ginger soy broth.

Beef and Broccoli digital dumplings!

These dumplings were a lot! While we really enjoyed the generous amount of beef, we felt the creamy pesto was just a normal pesto. We didn’t get much broccoli flavor and the additional flavors of the soy sauce and the ginger were a lot of flavors happening at once.

A look inside!

If you enjoy soy sauce and different ingredients working together, we think you should try this one out! While both were pretty good options, we have to say we can’t choose which one we prefer.

After our savory options, we needed something to help balance our tastebuds out so we grabbed the Chocolate Cake Doughnut Holes for $5.79.

The chocolate doughnut holes!

This sweet option was made up of chocolate doughnut holes, chocolate popping candies, and a mocha sauce on the bottom. These doughnuts were amazing! The chocolate-popping candies were a really nice surprise and added a great texture. The cake was moist and soaked up the mocha really well.

Overall, this option was delicious and it was a nice, chocolatey dessert. If you don’t enjoy the feeling of popping candies though, maybe consider skipping this one.

Staying on the sweeter side of things, we also grabbed the Strawberry IceOform dessert for $5.29. This ice cream mochi dessert came with caramelized graham crackers and cheesecake foam.

Strawberry IceOform!

These bites were the perfect blend of cheesecake and ice cream! The strawberry gel at the bottom offered a nice tang that pairs well with the sweet cheesecake foam. If you don’t enjoy the chewy texture of traditional mochi, you might want to avoid this dish.

The inside!

While we really enjoyed the sweet strawberry ice cream inside, the outside texture wasn’t our favorite. Overall, we thought this was a nice sweet treat that’s a real winner!

If you’re looking for a special drink, Energy Bytes is here to help! First, we tried the Watermelon Refresher for $5.99.

The Watermelon Refresher!

This drink was watermelon, yuka citrus, ginger, and popping candies. Surprisingly, this drink wasn’t too heavy on the faux watermelon flavor. The tartness of the yuzu and the heat of the ginger were the main flavors in addition to the sweet watermelon.

Another look at it!

It was a really pleasant drink and reminded us of sweet candy.

We also tried Joffrey’s Coffee Cold Brew with Mocha Milk for $5.29. This coffee was just a normal iced mocha in our opinion! It was slightly sweet and not heavy on the chocolate.

The mocha!

While these new items might not be everyone’s cup of tea, they are definitely ours. These bites were a new and exciting addition to Magic Kingdom and overall pretty tasty! Right now, Energy Bytes is only accessible to people with Virtual Queue or Lightning Lane reservations for TRON. This is most likely just for the soft opening, but we’ll let you know if that changes.

We are always excited to see new food options popping up around Disney World and these certainly did not disappoint. Make sure to keep following DFB for all of your Disney food news and updates!
