The statue can be found in the extended outdoor queue for The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man. John “J.” Jonah Jameson Jr. is, of course, a Marvel legend, first appearing in Issue #1 of  The Amazing Spider-Man comic book series.

J. Jonah Jameson is depicted in silver atop a black marble base. Created by the iconic Stan Lee, Jameson is typically depicted as editor of The Daily Bugle and Peter Parker’s boss. While he’s often supportive of Peter, Jameson isn’t usually a particular fan of the illusive Spider-Man.

The statue depicts the Marvel legend holding a crumpled newspaper in his hand and pointing a finger into the air. His signature buzz cut, included.

The statue has been missing from Universal’s Islands of Adventure for more than six years.

The reason for the statue’s long disappearance and sudden return is unknown.

J. Jonah Jameson plays a minor role in The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man ride.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man

Universal’s Spider-Man ride can be found on Marvel Super Hero Island in Islands of Adventure or in the New York City area of Universal Studios Japan. It was an opening day attraction for Universal’s Islands of Adventure.

The interior queue takes guests through the Daily Bugle building, where J. Jonah Jameson tells guests he’s sending them out in a Scoop vehicle to cover the story of supervillains stealing the Statue of Liberty.

Guests don 3-D goggles and head out into the streets of New York City, where they encounter Spider-Man and some of his villains, like Doctor Octopus, Hdyro-Man, and Electro.

Chris Edgerly voiced both Peter Parker and J. Jonah Jameson for the attraction. There are several Stan Lee cameos, including his voice as the ride announcer, and a tribute to him in the queue that was added after his death.

The Amazing Adventures of Spider-Man was refurbished in 2012 with high-definition video, digital projectors, and other updates, coinciding with the release of “The Amazing Spider-Man” in theaters.

Marvel Super Hero Island also boasts a Spider-Man meet and greet.
