As the Mardi Gras International Flavors of Carnival celebration at Universal Orlando Resort comes to a close, we have been noticing the removal of a few of the themed booths.
Mardi Gras at Universal Orlando Resort
The 2023 Mardi Gras celebration kicked off this year on February 4, and will continue on until April 16. The theme for this years celebration was International Flavors of Carnival and featured themed booths throughout Universal Studios Florida, Islands of Adventure, and CityWalk.
India Booth Removed
When we stopped into Universal Studios Florida today, we first noticed that the India booth had been removed. The booth was located in San Francisco near Richter’s Burger Co.
Pictured above, was the India booth when it first opened. The India booth featured Indian dishes such as Pav Bhaji, Onion Bhaji, Gulab, Jamun with Rose Water Syrup, Nimbu Pani, and Aam Panna.
Colombia Booth Removed
We also noticed that the Colombia booth was also removed. It was located right near “Animal Actors on Location” in Universal Studios Florida.
The Colombia booth featured dishes such as Colombian Empanadas, Arepas de Queso, Refajo, Coco Loco, Limondada de Coco, and Cholados.
Trinidad & Tobago Booth Removed
The Trinidad & Tobago booth has also been removed. It was located in front of the train from “Back to the Future: Part III”.
The Trinidad & Tobago booth featured dishes such as Crab & Dumplings, Chickpea Doubles, Pholourie, Carib, Shandy Ginger, Shandy Lime, and Shandy Sorrell.
As of right now, these were the only booths that have been removed so far. With the Mardi Gras celebration ending this Sunday, April 16, we will most likely be seeing the removal of more booths during the week.

Mardi Gras Booths Removed from Universal’s Islands of Adventure & CityWalk
This was the first year there were Mardi Gras booths at Universal’s Islands of Adventure and CityWalk.
Port of Entry in Universal’s Islands of Adventure was home to the Mardi Gras Hits and Mardi Gras Desserts booths.
Mardi Gras Hits served dishes such as Jambalaya, Shrimp Gumbo, and Category 5 Punch.
Mardi Gras Dessert booth served popular desserts such as King Cake, Beignets, and more.
CityWalk
At CityWalk, guests could enjoy the Taste of the Mediterranean and booths with Cauliflower Dirty Rice, Crawfish Etouffee, Shrimp & Grits, and Yakamein.
The booths were removed at the end of March, even though the Mardi Gras celebration goes on until April 16.
The Taste of the Mediterranean booth featured dishes such as Crepe Suzette, Grilled Octopus with Rice, and more.
The Cauliflower Dirty Rice & Crawfish Étouffée booth served exactly what it was named for plus a few specialty cocktails.
The Shrimp & Grits, Yakamein booth served up Shrimp and Smoked Cheddar Cheese Rice Grits, Yakaemin, and specialty cocktails.
