Two of the new digital Walt Disney World road signs have been activated near EPCOT and Disney Springs. We’ve noticed the installation of these new digital signs over the past few months, in addition to new regular blue signs.
Disney Springs Digital Sign
This first digital sign hangs over the road near the Disney Springs exit when heading west on EPCOT Center Dr. It replaces two of the old purple and red signs. But one purple and red sign remains, pointing to Disney Springs and Typhoon Lagoon Water Park.
The digital sign lights up with a blue design, matching the new blue signs, with white and yellow lettering. It points guests straight ahead to EPCOT (in all lowercase letters), Magic Kingdom, and Fort Wilderness.
EPCOT Digital Sign
The next digital sign is in a frame on the side of the road near the EPCOT exit.
It has arrows pointing guests to EPCOT (also in lowercase), Magic Kingdom, Disney’s Animal Kingdom, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios.
We may be seeing more digital signs installed throughout Walt Disney World Resort since they are easier to update with ever-changing information.

Walt Disney World Road Signs
Walt Disney World has had purple and red road signs since the 1990s, but these are slowly being replaced with blue and yellow signs. The first of the new signage was installed near Star Wars: Galactic Starcruiser in early 2022.
The new style matches the blues at the Transportation and Ticket Center, which was repainted from its previous colorful palette in the summer of 2021.
The purple and red signs were designed by Sussman/Prejza for Walt Disney World and Euro Disney. Euro Disney (now Disneyland Paris) adapted the look for their logo as well.
The designs were intended to create “a vehicular signing system that would be unique in spirit, clean, easy to follow, and capable of being expanded as the area continues to grow.”
More than 1,000 signs were installed using the above designs, and the style later expanded to the Transportation and Ticket Center, the entrance archways, and the Disney buses. The entrance archways were repainted in 2021 to match the 50th anniversary color scheme.
The purple signs were so emblematic of Walt Disney World that merchandise was even sold featuring the design.
Digital signage began to be installed in January, and we’ve spotted digital signs on Buena Vista Drive and World Drive.
