Disney’s New Live-Action Remake Sets New Running Time Record

It’s no secret that Disney fans have been begging to receive more bang for their buck, but something tells me this isn’t what they’ve meant. Disney’s new film The Little Mermaid has beaten Cruella (2021) for the longest-running time of any Disney live-action remake by a minute. Sporting an epic two-hour and fifteen-minute run time, the new movie will prove to be quite the marathon experience.

The original animated version of this under the sea classic was only 83 minutes long, making me wonder how much filler has been introduced to pad out the new one. Lin Manuel Miranda is said to have added new musical pieces to the movie, but we will need to wait until the May 26th opening to know more.
