After canceling thousands of flights in late 202, facing massive backlash due to those issues, and promising improvements for the future, it seems issues have impacted Southwest once again in a big way.

According to WESH 2 News, ALL flights by Southwest Airlines were grounded throughout the United States on April 18th for a period of time.

A Tweet by the Federal Aviation Administration indicated that Southwest requested the FAA pause their departures.

The FAA later indicated the ground stop for all Southwest Flights was canceled.

Southwest posted a message on Twitter saying “We have had to implement a ground stop as a result of intermittent issues that were experienced, and we should hopefully be resuming our operation as soon as possible.”

According to FlightAware, around 1,249 Southwest flights (about 30%) were delayed as of 11:01AM ET. By 11:05AM ET, around 1,512 Southwest flights were listed as delayed.
