Could Walt Disney World Pack Up In Florida & Relocate?

Walt Disney World’s home in Florida seems to be more uncertain by the day, with Governor Ron DeSantis and the Walt Disney Company locked in an uncomfortable battle. Seeing the updates that come through each day has me thinking about the location in Florida and if Disney would even have the means to relocate if the inhospitable environment continues to deteriorate.

Many states across the USA would be happy to welcome the tourism and exposure that comes with hosting a Walt Disney Theme park. And though relocating an entire theme park center like Walt Disney World might seem impossible, there is also a limit to what the company can tolerate and still remain a profitable, free entity where it resides. What exactly would it take for Disney to make such an extraordinary leap? I can’t even begin to imagine. However, I can envisage a scenario that may not be too far away where Disney stop building new structures within their Orlando base and start looking at a third location elsewhere in the USA.

While I doubt the new ‘Mickey’s Freedom Act’ which has surfaced from North Carolina, will have enough pull to persuade Disney to make the multi-billion dollar jump in location, I can see a case where this sort of invitation could encourage Disney to start again in a new state. If The Walt Disney Company were looking for a new home to begin building a third empire, where would the best location be? I suspect not so close to the Floridian-based Walt Disney World. I would go as far as to say somewhere that is not coastal at all. What about Illinois or Kansas? I’m not sure. They would want to look at somewhere that has reasonably stable weather, also with a major city center nearby to attract more guests, and also serves as a transport hub.

The more I think about it, the more it seems like a brilliant plan to me. Why continue to add to an already enormous resort when you could start making inroads into a new experience altogether? You might remember that a few months back, Universal Parks & Resorts announced that they’re planning a new theme park concept in Texas and they’re also bringing year-round horror to Las Vegas.

Let me know what you think; where would you place a third Disney theme park location within the USA?
