Disneyland Resort turnstiles experienced a computer issue that prevented guests from entering the parks, park hopping, or using parking structures for part of the afternoon today. It also prevented scanning passes for discounts.
Disneyland Resort Turnstiles Temporarily Out of Order
Disneyland Resort’s entry system crashed today, causing a temporary delay in guest entry and several other park functions, according to some Twitter users. This temporarily prevented guests from being able to enter either of the two parks at Disneyland Resort.
The issue was first noticed around 11:30a.m. local time at the parks.
Cast Members at the parking lots were handing out parking tickets instead of scanning tickets like usual.
Rumors also circulated briefly that the parks were completely closed to guests due to the system crash; however, guests were continually permitted to board trams and enter the parks, when the system allowed it. There was a backup of visitors attempting to enter either Disneyland Park or Disney California Adventure Park, causing significant crowding in the plaza.
MagicBands were reportedly nonfunctional as well, and guests had to use their pass cards to enter the parks once the system began permitting entry.
The issue seems to have been fixed around 12:30p.m. local time, allowing guests to regularly enter the park once again.
Our last reports indicate that MagicBands are back to normal functioning, so hopefully everything is back in working order.
Did you run into the crowds while the turnstiles were down? We’d love to read about your experience in the comments below.
