It’s been a pretty wild week for Disney news!
Disney World Annual Passes are on sale again after being paused for quite some time (and all pass types are still available!). We also got some major Halloween news about Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party including when you can buy tickets, the cheapest dates, and how TRON will work during the party. Even though Disney news has been busy, the parks seemed to have mellowed out when it comes to wait times.
Although wait times have gone down overall, there are still some long lines you may want to skip. One way to skip the long lines at certain attractions is rope dropping or staying until park close. Rope dropping is when you arrive at the park before opening time so you are one of the first people in the parks for the day. During this time, you can get on a ride or two without much of a wait! We’ve also noticed that wait times dip near the end of the night.
Another choice you can make is to purchase Genie+, which is Disney’s skip-the-line system. The price of Genie+ depends on the day since Disney introduced flexible pricing earlier this year, however, we’ve seen the price fluctuate between $15 and $29. Buying Genie+ will allow you to expedite your wait for many Disney World attractions.
Now, let’s take a look at the average wait times from this past week in all 4 Disney World parks!
Magic Kingdom
Starting in Magic Kingdom, Seven Dwarfs Mine Train had the longest average wait time of 75 minutes. Last week the average wait time was 102 minutes, so the time has decreased a LOT.
Next, Peter Pan’s Flight averaged 66 minutes, Jungle Cruise averaged 47 minutes, and Space Mountain averaged 46 minutes. After that, average wait times had Haunted Mansion at 36 minutes, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad at 32 minutes, Buzz Lightyear’s Space Ranger Spin at 30 minutes, Pirates of the Caribbean and The Many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh at 29 minutes, Astro Orbiter at 28 minutes, and Enchanted Tales with Belle averaged 25 minutes.
After that, “it’s a small world” averaged 22 minutes, Under the Sea – Journey of the Little Mermaid and Magic Carpets of Aladdin averaged 20 minutes, The Barnstormer featuring the Great Goofini and Dumbo the Flying Elephant averaged 18 minutes, and Tomorrowland Speedway averaged 17 minutes.
Next, Mickey’s PhilharMagic averaged 15 minutes, Tomorrowland Transit Authority PeopleMover averaged 13 minutes, Prince Charming Regal Carrousel averaged 11 minutes, and Mad Tea Party averaged 10 minutes. The Enchanted Tiki Room, Carousel of Progress, the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse, and the Liberty Square Riverboat all averaged 5 minutes.
The Hall of Presidents, Country Bear Jamboree, and Tom Sawyer Island averaged no wait.

Next up is Test Track at 55 minutes, Soarin’ at 26 minutes, Mission: SPACE at 17 minutes, Turtle Talk with Crush at 15 minutes, and Spaceship Earth at 10 minutes.
Then, there is The Seas with Nemo and Friends and Living with the Land at 8 minutes, Gran Fiesta Tour at 7 minutes, and Journey into Imagination at 6 minutes.

Hollywood Studios
Now it’s time to talk about Hollywood Studios where Slinky Dog Dash took the top spot for the highest wait time in the park with 77 minutes this week (compared to last week’s 109-minute average). Rise of the Resistance took the second-place spot for the highest wait time in the park with 61 minutes. Just last week, the average wait time was 123 minutes, so the wait time has basically cut in HALF. WOW!
Other wait times in the park include Toy Story Mania at 45 minutes, Mickey and Minnie’s Runaway Railway at 42 minutes, Millennium Falcon: Smugglers Run at 39 minutes, and Tower of Terror at 37 minutes.

Overall, wait times have significantly decreased since last week! The holiday crowds seem to have left Disney World, and although we saw some pretty big crowds at the first day of the EPCOT Festival of the Arts, the crowds have thinned out for the most part.
