Recently, Disney shared a story about one cast member’s creativity, and we just had to share it with you!

With Disney’s 100th Anniversary Celebration in full swing, Disney is highlighting its cast members whose ideas are creating positive waves of change. Recently, they shared cast member Paul Villegas’s story.

Paul is a Fantasyland attractions lead and trainer in Disneyland, and he’s got a favorite attraction — the Storybook Land Canal Boats. He noticed that young children often felt scared to sit at the front of the boat due to the intimidating appearance of Monstro the whale. “I asked if I could design an ‘Official Whale Watcher’ sticker that cast members could hand out to our young guests and tell them it’s their job to be on the lookout for whales,” said Paul.

The sticker, which is just one of the stickers he has designed for other Fantasyland attractions and shows, has been a hit with both the guests and cast members. He says that his creative streak is inspired by his sister, a first-grade teacher.

Disney shared that Paul’s enthusiasm for his work and creativity have earned him the highly-coveted Walt Disney Legacy Award, which is the Disney Parks, Experiences and Products’ highest honor.
