Did you get tickets to one of the biggest Disney fan events of the year? We’re talking about Destination D23, which will take place from September 8th to 10th, 2023 in Disney World.
This event is HUGE because this is where Disney often makes some key announcements about upcoming projects, offers behind-the-scenes details, hosts special guests, and more. However, tickets for the event sold out in minutes. But don’t worry if you didn’t get tickets — you’ll still be able to experience Destination D23 in another way — from home.
Disney has announced that “select presentations” from Destination D23 will be livestreamed on D23.com so you can watch it from ANYWHERE.
D23 hasn’t announced what panels will be livestreamed, but back in 2021 the livestream schedule did include a big panel about the future of the Disney parks. We’ll be looking for a full Destination D23 livestream schedule for 2023 and will share those details with you when they’re released.
But that’s not all. Although those with tickets will get first access to exclusive Destination D23 shopping, a separate ticketed experience will be offered to D23 Gold members (who aren’t attending Destination D23) who want to snag some exclusive souvenirs from Mickey’s of Glendale, The Walt Disney Company Store, and the Ink & Paint Marketplace. D23 will announce more details about that shopping experience later.
But, wait, there’s more! D23 announced a HOST of other events that will take place THROUGHOUT the year. A 25th anniversary screaming of Mulan will be held for members at the Los Angeles State Historic Park on May 28th. Tickets are available here.
D23 is also celebrating the opening of Rogers: The Musical at Disney California Adventure. D23 Gold Members will get a special opportunity to “save the city” — D23 will be announcing more details soon.
Members will also get to attend the D23 Presents — X-Men Hellfire Gala, which combines high fashion with Marvel Comics.
In the fall, D23 members will get a chance to attend the D23 Black Flame Ball: Spell-ebrating 30 Years of Hocus Pocus, an event celebrating 25 Years of Halloweentown, the Sleepy Hollow International Film Festival, and a celebration all about Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas: 30th Anniversary. LOTS of fun stuff for the spookiest of seasons!
Plus, in celebration of the 100th Anniversary of the Walt Disney Company, D23 will be “welcoming Members to an enchanted celebration at the historic Walt Disney Studios on October 16—the actual 100th Anniversary of Disney.” Plus, the fall issue of Disney twenty-three magazine will be a special edition in celebration of this anniversary.
D23 says that these are ” just a few of the exciting experiences” they’ll be hosting this year. We’ll be keeping an eye out for even more events, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more!
