Cinderella Castle Looks DIFFERENT in Magic Kingdom

At Disney World, it can feel like there are always so many changes going on.

Remember when the castle looked like this?

We have seen Genie+ rules and park pass reservations change. We see old restaurants change and new ones open. We see stores at Disney Springs close. We like to say the only thing that doesn’t change in Disney World is that it is things will change. And now a BIG change has hit one of the most iconic landmarks in the park!

Today, we were in Magic Kingdom and noticed that some of the gold ribbons from the 50th anniversary have been removed from Cinderella Castle! Disney has been slowly removing the 50th decorations in the parks since the celebration ended in March.

The castle began to lose its 50th decorations in April with the removal of the buntings from the castle towers. Now, we see that the large gold ribbons that used to circle the top of the front two towers have been removed.

Can you spot the difference?

While there are some ribbons left on the other turrets, the front two towers have had theirs taken down.

a closer look.

Last month, we saw the moat around the castle being drained to bring in cranes to help remove the decorations. Earlier this week, we saw these walls put up behind the castle where a crane was hiding behind it.

As a reminder, here’s what the castle looked like just a few days ago:

It’s very likely that the other gold ribbons will be removed from the castle soon. For more Disney parks news, make sure to subscribe to our newsletter at DFB.
