One of the more memorable stories of Splash Mountain’s closure at Walt Disney World earlier this year were the exorbitant prices paid for a small amount of the attraction’s water. With several guests attempting to do the same on its last day at Disneyland yesterday, Cast Members took matters into their own hands.
Splash Mountain Water Collectors Warned
A video shared on Twitter by user @JinxEverywhere shows a guest on their last ride aboard Splash Mountain yesterday. While in the iconic “Zip-A-Dee-Doo-Dah” finale scene, a Cast Member comes over the PA system to warn guests “Please do not collect the water. Please dump the water, thank you.”
When riding Splash Mountain, guests were expected to stay seated with their hands, arms, feet, and legs inside the log at all times. This of course isn’t the first time such incidents have happened, with guests attempting to sell jars of Splash Mountain water from the Walt Disney World version for as high as $145 back in January.
As of publishing, a search for Splash Mountain water on eBay turns up 44 results including plenty from Walt Disney World. Some guests have bottled them up in anything from regular bottles to the Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge-exclusive Coca-Cola bottles.
Others put them in mason jars or vials with fun themed labels based on art for the attraction. Around six or seven of these have actually sold since the attraction closed yesterday.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
The original Splash Mountain first opened at Disneyland in July 1989. The attraction closed permanently on May 30 to be transformed into Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, which is expected to open in 2024.
Splash Mountain at Magic Kingdom closed in January and construction on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is well underway. Splash Mountain is set to remain as-is at Tokyo Disneyland, where it opened in 1992.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure takes place after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” Tiana’s Foods is an employee-owned community food co-op established by Tiana in 1927, following the success of her restaurant, Tiana’s Palace. The co-op is housed inside a salt mine, with growers planting crops along the old Splash Mountain waterway. Guests will ascend through a mill house built into the side of the mountain.
Tiana’s Palace will replace the French Market Restaurant in New Orleans Square. Eudora’s Chic Boutique Featuring Tiana’s Gourmet Secrets, a shop featuring “The Princess and the Frog” merchandise as well as New Orleans-related items, is already open.
The Splash Mountain landscaping will be updated to make it look more like a Louisiana bayou. The iconic tree that was included in the original concept art will be also removed as it doesn’t fit the new backstory.
This re-envisioned attraction will follow Tiana venturing into the bayou to find animal friends. She’ll be hosting a party for the people of New Orleans, but missing a special ingredient. Some of the original cast will be providing their voices to the attraction, including Anika Noni Rose (Tiana), Bruno Campos (Naveen), Michael Leon Wooley (Louis), and Jennifer Lewis (Mama Odie).
