Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny hits theaters on June 30 so Walt Disney World is celebrating all summer! A new bar opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios today and will be open through August 15 – Indiana Jones: Den of Destiny. This pop-up has props from the new Indiana Jones movie, plus a variety of drinks we were able to try. Starting June 30 through August 15, Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar will be serving some new eats and drinks, which we also tried during a special media event held at the bar.
Let’s start with the drinks Indiana Jones: Den of Destiny. There are two alcoholic options as well as one non-alcoholic. The Adventuress Margarita is Corazon Blanco Tequila, Passion Fruit Papaya Green Tea, Cucumber, Lime Juice, and Agave Nectar for $13.50. The Weathered Fedora is Old Forester Kentucky Straight Bourbon, Sweet Vermouth, Vanilla, Hella Cocktail Co. Ginger Bitters, Star Anise, Cinnamon, and Nutmeg served over an Ice Sphere for $14.50. The one we had was served over cubes that watered down the drink. Finally, the L’Atlantique Green Tea is Pomegranate Green Tea, Blood Orange, Lemon Juice, and Agave Nectar for $6.25.
The Adventuress Margarita was tremendously sweet. The agave nectar and lime juice dominated the flavor with some notes of cucumber, but the passion fruit papaya green tea was lost. The Weathered Fedora hits you with the star anise, cinnamon, and nutmeg at the front but finishes with a light ginger and vanilla flavor that complements the bourbon. The L’Antique Green Tea is refreshing, not overly sweet, and balances the pomegranate green tea and blood orange evenly.
As for Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar, we sampled the Giant Bacon For All Mankind and Marché Stuffed Dates and Figs. The Giant Bacon For All Mankind is chocolate-covered bacon served with a Trusty Revolver for two. The Trusty Revolver is a smoked whiskey drink with Knob Creek bourbon, simple syrup, orange bitters, Cointreau, and soda water. The bacon is also smoked under the same dome as the drink. The Marché Stuffed Dates and Figs are Marcona almond and goat cheese stuffed dates wrapped with prosciutto, cognac figs, and cipollini onion.
The chocolate-covered bacon is named after Neil Armstrong’s famous words from the moon since the new Indiana Jones movie takes place in 1969. Chocolate-covered bacon fans will be pleased with the extra smokiness added and the drink was reminiscent of an old fashioned with a soda fizz. Don’t be concerned about bad dates, but it is a lot of sweetness. The goat cheese stuffed inside the dates makes a sweet and savory combo that is furthered by more sweetness from the figs and the perfectly roasted onion.
We also got a chance to see the revamped Chicken on the Egg. The dish will remain the same – fried chicken on deviled eggs with hot honey sauce, but it’s going to be served on new wooden planes. Jock Lindsey’s will also be taking three of their favorite cocktails and putting them together for the Charter Flight which includes Reggie’s Revenge, Coll-Headed Monkey, and The Mayor’s Reserve.
More unique snacks will be making their way to Disney Springs like the Indiana Jones Piñata and Marion’s Medallion coming to The Ganachery. A brilliantly designed Indiana Jones Petite Cake will also be heading to Amorette’s Patisserie.
Finally, merchandising. A small selection of Indiana Jones merch can be found at Walt Disney World already, but more is on the way. Plus, there are a lot of online stores selling Indiana Jones merch like Funko, Geeki Teeki, Hasbro, LEGO, RSVLTS, and Heroes & Villains. There’s more than you could possibly buy.
Be sure to stop by Disney’s Hollywood Studios and Disney Springs to celebrate Indiana Jones this summer and check out Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny in theaters on June 30, 2023!
