This Is a Dream, Right?! Hotels Are 40% Off For Christmas Day in Disney World

Imagine: It’s Christmas morning, and everyone is still asleep — except you. You’re up early, living the good life, and taking it all in.

Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

This isn’t just any Christmas — nope. Because this morning, you woke up in a Disney World Deluxe hotel. Just how’d you swing that, you ask? Don’t you worry, we’re going to tell you exactly how Annual Passholders can make it happen.

What if we told you that you could score a stay at a Deluxe Disney World hotel on CHRISTMAS DAY for 40% off?! You’re not dreaming — it’s the truth.

Annual Passholders can save on rooms at select Disney Resort hotels between October and December 2023. This discount can save Passholders up to 35% on stays most Sunday through Thursday nights from October 2nd to November 18th, 2023, and most nights from November 19th to December 9th, 2023.

But — Passholders can save up to 40% most nights December 10th through the 25th, 2023. Read it again — through December 25th…that’s Christmas Day, people!!!

Save up to 40% for stays most nights December 10th to the 25th, 2023 at the following hotels:

  • Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge
  • Disney’s Beach Club Resort
  • Disney’s BoardWalk Inn
  • Disney’s Grand Floridian Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Old Key West Resort
  • Disney’s Riviera Resort
  • Disney’s Saratoga Springs Resort & Spa
  • Disney’s Yacht Club Resort

More holiday decor

To qualify for this discount, you must stay for a minimum of one night and a maximum of fourteen nights. Disney warned that the number of rooms allocated for this offer is limited, so you’ll want to book your rooms quickly! Advanced hotel reservations are required in order to take advantage of the deal.

But, what is going on??? Why would Disney offer a discount during what has historically been one of the busiest times of the year? Well, we might not know the exact reason, but it could be something similar to why we’re expecting fewer crowds in the parks this summer.

First, Annual Passes didn’t sell out quite like Disney was anticipating. We know this because when they first went on sale again, the Disney World website featured a message that read, “We anticipate a pass or select passes may become unavailable for purchase later today (April 20th, 2023).” But, months later,  all Annual Passes are still available for purchase.

Not only that, but over the past few months, besides a few MAJOR holidays, Disney’s Park Pass availability has been wide-open at all four theme parks. Attraction wait times have been low, too, and even virtual queue availability for Magic Kingdom’s newest ride, TRON Lightcycle / Run, has remained open HOURS after the queue opens.

And just like with these holiday hotel discounts, we can also look at the summer deals and discounts to gauge how busy Disney anticipates the parks to be. Currently, we’re seeing deals for pretty much EVERYONE, including Florida Residents, Disney Visa Cardmembers, Annual Passholders, and theme park guests. The same is true right around Christmas, with several hotel discounts having been announced for the holiday season.

When we see promotions like these, we usually assume that Disney wants more people in the parks and resorts, so they start lowering the price to entice more visitors.

Christmas everywhere

It’s not all good news for Disney’s bottom line though — according to a recent earnings call, things are slowing down in the theme parks. In reference to the Disney Parks revenue, CFO Christine McCarthy said, “Per cap growth was more moderate this quarter as we are comparing against the first full quarter of offering Genie+ and Lightning Lane at both parks in the prior year.” She also noted this dip in attendance could likely be due to the 50th Anniversary Celebration ending.

5 BIG Reasons You Could See an Empty Disney World This Summer

Ultimately, we’ll have to wait and see just what crowds will be like, but with a 40% off hotel discount for Annual Passholders, maybe you can check it out for yourself too! It’s rare that we see discounts quite this high, especially for Deluxe Resorts so take advantage if you can. Imagine waking up in your Disney World hotel room on Christmas morning — ahhhh, that’s the life.
