Hot on the heels of the new Pixar film’s release, we spotted a new “Elemental” sipper at Smokejumpers Grill in Disney California Adventure!
Elemental Sipper – $21.69
includes choice of Fountain Beverage at time of purchase. Limit five (5) per person, per transaction. No discounts apply.
To celebrate the release of “Elemental” this weekend, guests can pick up a special sipper celebrating the two central characters in the film — Wade and Ember. Both sides are made of plastic. On this side we see Wade, made of course of water in the film and represented appropriately in a light blue.
On the opposite side we see Ember, made of fire and represented in orange.
The two halves are joined together at the center and are not separate molds.
The actual drink goes in an easily removable cup which sits at the center, making the depictions of Wade and Ember entirely decorative.
The strap shows them in various emotional states as well as with the film’s logo and “Disney Parks.”
We found this at Smokejumpers Grill in Disney California Adventure. Let us know if you’ll stroll the parks with this new sipper in the comments below!
‘Elemental’ Offerings at Disneyland Resort
Animation Academy
At Disney California Adventure, you can learn to draw Wade and Ember at the Animation Academy during select classes for a limited time. “Elemental” Director, Pete Sohn, recently dropped by the Animation Academy to see his pals Wade and Ember be drawn to life.
“World of Color – ONE” Pre-Show
The new “Elemental Connection” pre-show recently debuted in front of “World of Color – ONE.”
Brilliant projections dance across vast water screens in this two-minute pre-show, bringing the land, air, water, and fire residents of Element City to life. In this heartfelt story, fire element Ember and water element Wade discover that though the world tells them they can’t coexist, they are more alike than they realize. As whimsical fountains and powerful music fill Paradise Bay, you’ll see that stepping out of your element may help you uncover who you really are, just like Ember and Wade.
“Elemental” Stars Visit Disneyland Resort
Finally, Leah Lewis (voice of Ember) and Mamoudou Athie (voice of Wade), recently stopped by the Disneyland Resort to check out the new “Elemental” offerings in person. Check out how they experienced all of the elements Disneyland has to offer:
‘Elemental’
“Elemental” is the latest Pixar film to arrive in cinemas since 2022’s “Lightyear,” and is directed by Peter Sohn — who previously directed “The Good Dinosaur” and voiced Emile in the 2007 film “Ratatouille.” Pixar’s Twitter page describes this new adventure’s main concept:
In a city where fire, water, land, & air residents live together, a fiery young woman & a go-with-the-flow guy will discover something elemental: How much they have in common. Directed by Peter Sohn and produced by Denise Ream, Disney and Pixar’s Elemental releases June 16, 2023.
In an interview with Variety, Sohn, who also conceived the story, drew parallels between the friction the two main characters have with their families when they begin venturing outside of their own elemental culture with his own personal life as the child of Korean immigrants.
It’s the burden of culture and passing the torch of carrying a piece of heritage inside of you and trying to decide what to do with that heritage. I have kids that come from different, mixed cultures. I’m Korean and my wife is half-Italian, part- German and part-English. The feeling of it can sometimes be like a burden. I wonder if I am I breaking the chain in my life because I’m not pushing the Korean language and culture. And our main character, Ember, even though her culture is fictional, she’s dealing with very similar issues of trying to understand her life in a place that was not her parents’ home.
“Elemental” is in theaters today.
