San Fransokyo Square, the dynamic mash-up city from Big Hero 6, is opening to guests inside Disney California Adventure Park later this year. Disney has shared that beginning in mid-July, Lucky Fortune Cookery and the Port of San Fransokyo Cervecería will officially open. In the following weeks, more dining locations, unique shops, and more are set to open as the transformation continues through mid-August.
Disney has confirmed that there will be a meet-and-greet featuring both Hiro and Baymax outside of the Hamada Bot Shop in San Fransokyo Square. Guests may also see some upcoming inventions in this location, as this is where the Big Hero 6 team will create their hi-tech gear.
When the transformation is finished in August, additional locations such as Cappuccino Cart outside the San Fransokyo Gate Bridge and The Bakery Tour “will be decked out in street art and colorful banners celebrating the Big Hero 6 team after their victory over Yokai.”
Aunt Cass Café, the second bakery café operated by Hiro’s loving aunt, will serve dishes and soups (in freshly-baked Boudin sourdough bread bowls) inspired by Japanese cuisine.
Rita’s Turbine Blenders, a giant drink dispenser, will serve margaritas and icy beverages. “This refreshment stand is owned and named after the repair technician who maintains the floating wind turbine, resembling a giant koi fish, that sits atop the structure.”
The San Fransokyo Maker’s Market, pictured in the concept art above, will be stocked with unique apparel, homewares, and more featuring Baymax and friends.
Disney says the full list of new cuisine coming to this area will be revealed soon, so be sure to watch for it!
