Welcome back, DFB friends! We’re here with another What’s New at Magic Kingdom!
And, we’ve got plenty of food, merchandise, and construction updates to share with you, so let’s dive right on in!
Magic Kingdom Food Update
Sleepy Hollow
The Halloween season has only just begun, so that means there are so many pumpkin treats to come (and we’re totally going to try them all)! Although the Pumpkin-spiced Mickey Waffle Sundae wasn’t supposed to be served up until September 8th, it made a delicious debut over at Sleepy Hollow early.
The pumpkin spice flavored waffles come with a huge amount of vanilla ice cream, whipped cream, caramel sauce, and sprinkles (which totally passes as breakfast to us).
Want all the Pumpkin Spice details? Read our full review of the Pumpkin Mickey Waffle Sundae here!
Buuut, you can also take a spin on the spirit side with Madame Leota Sipper Cup at Sleepy Hollow too! Leota looks positively wicked in her “crystal ball” cup…
…complete with a lid that pops open with a straw attached too! Whatever drink you decide to have in it, we’re sure it’s bound to give you hot and cold running chills.
The coolest part? Leota lights up and shifts between spooky ethereal colors!
Become the next happy haunt to join the Haunted Mansion with the Madame Leota Sipper Cup!
Mobile Order
Mobile Order has practically been our best friend since the parks opened again! And, while we were perusing the menus for our next snack, we spotted Halloween goodies pop up at restaurants like Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe, and Pinocchio Village Haus! The Oogie Boogie Dice have rolled into the Magic Kingdom…
…to light up the day or night for $8.69 with any fountain drink. (Oogie is quaking in his green fabric suit.)
Forewarning — these guys are BIG and will fill up the top of your cup, but they look SO cool!!
Take a look at how CUTE the new Oogie Boogie Light-Up Dice are here!
You can also nab the Jack Skellington Sipper Cup to go along with your dice…
…since Jack is QUITE the show-stopper for $15.99. (He’d look super cute in your ride photos, we have to admit!)
We’re happy to see this MASSIVE sipper cup return this year!
Here’s everything you need to know about Halloween goodies on Disney World’s Mobile Order!
Popcorn Carts
We’ve seen the Purple Cauldron Popcorn Bucket bubble up early over in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but there’s another new Halloween Popcorn Bucket in town!
The Magic Kingdom has brought back one of the cutest buckets from last year with the characters dressed up in their favorite spooky get-ups…
…that you can fill to the top for $12 with refills available for only $2!
These refillable buckets cost a good bit less than their more sculptural counterparts (like that Mickey Pumpkin bucket returning this year!) but refills still cost the same ol’ two bucks!
Boo to YOU! Check out the returning Halloween Popcorn Bucket here!
Sunshine Tree Terrace
The queen bee of Citrus Swirls in the Magic Kingdom (AKA the Sunshine Tree Terrace) was temporarily closed during our walk.
Cast Members weren’t sure when it would be re-opening, so we’ll keep checking back to see when it’s open again!
Read all the details about Sunshine Tree Terrace’s closure here!
Gaston’s Tavern
Guess who’s back, back again? Gaston’s back!! TELL YOUR FRIENDS!
Gaston’s Tavern has officially re-opened to guests traveling far and wide across Fantasyland. The quick-stop location has opened with distancing markers and stanchions in place, as well as returning favorites like LeFou’s Brew and Warm Cinnamon Rolls.
Here’s everything you need to know about Gaston Tavern’s grand re-opening!
But, we had our eye on the brand new Grey Stuff Cupcake that has made its way all the way over from Be Our Guest Restaurant.
The Master’s Cupcake from the restaurant (here it’s simply called the Grey Stuff Cupcake) is a Chocolate Sponge Cake topped with lots of Grey Stuff on top and the inside of the treat…
…which honestly was the best addition to Gaston Tavern’s menu that we could have imagined for the grand re-opening!
And yes, the grey stuff IS still delicious (don’t believe us? Ask the dishes! Sorry, we couldn’t resist!).
We’ve tried the Grey Stuff Cupcake, and it’s delicious! Don’t believe us?? Read our full review here!
Main Street Bakery
What’s huge, sweet, and has icing all over?? The NEW Mickey Halloween Cinnamon Roll has been baked up over at the Main Street Bakery (and we’re just as excited as you are)!
The massive cinnamon roll is shaped like an adorable Mickey head and drizzled with plenty of Halloween themed icing for the Fall!
This is still just as tasty as ever and we’re happy to see that giant Mickey-shaped festive roll back for the season!
Take a look at this GIANT Halloween Cinnamon Roll in the Magic Kingdom here!
Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe
Still hungry? We’ve got something savory for all you cheese and spice fans out there! The Monster Mash Burger is stacked up with a beef patty, Meunster cheese, potato barrels (swoon), bacon, and sriracha aïoli in-between Mickey decorated buns.
We just want to take a moment to appreciate at all that SRIRACHA aïoli (our favorite part of the burger).
This thing is actually pretty huge, so you can share it with your family and friends too!
We wouldn’t mind if this guy stuck around long past Halloween!
Is the Monster Mash Burger scary good? Read our full review here!
Westward Ho
We’ve shed a few tears over the missing Corn Dog Nuggets from Casey’s Corner since the quick-service stop is still temporarily closed. But, we were SHOOK when we found out that Westward Ho had Corn Dog Nuggets in Frontierland! (Excuse our ugly crying.)
While the Corn Dog Nuggets aren’t the same as the Casey’s version (without the side of fries and a different from of our favorite plastic cheese), they were still crispy and yummy! Now, we’ll just patiently wait for Casey’s to make its triumphant return.
But if you’ve got a corn dog nugg itch to scratch, these will do nicely.
Find out all the details you need to know about our beloved Corn Dog Nuggets here!
Magic Kingdom Merchandise Update
Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe
Oogie Boogie is just making his way ALL over the Magic Kingdom, isn’t he? And, Ye Olde Christmas Shoppe has a new nutcracker version of the baddie…
…with Oogie channeling his inner Sandy Claws with a gift and a candy cane as he stands on his casino wheel for $64.99.
His fluffy beard is just too much!!!
The Emporium
Although we’ve spotted the Villains Stickers across the country in Disneyland, now you can grab them in the Emporium for $4.99 each!
You can become a sea witch like Ursula…
…cast some Voodoo magic with Dr. Facilier…
…travel to the Underworld with Hades…
…and make some poisonous apples of your own with the Evil Queen! Or, you can become a supervillain by picking up them ALL!
Also at the Emporium, you can use the Fab Five Scrunchies when you get ready for your day in the parks! The pack comes with three scrunchies featuring Minnie, Chip and Dale, and the rest of the gang for $11.99.
Pirates of the Caribbean Shop
We’ve been going un poco loco over the Coco Dress and Coco Wishables in the parks. But, you can also be a musician like Miguel, Héctor, or Ernesto de la Cruz with the Coco Guitar Purse at the Pirates of the Caribbean Shop for $39.99!
The back comes with a strap for easy carrying as you go on your Disney World tour…
…with details like the gorgeous stitching on the guitar…
…and the famous skull head of the guitar!
What’s YOUR favorite song from Coco that you’re going to play first?
Check out the Coco Dress so you can coordinate your look!
Star Traders
Thackery Binx has been causing some mischief in Disney World since Hocus Pocus has started to cast a spell over the parks! And, the new Hocus Pocus Spirit Jersey and Mug that we love have also popped up in Star Traders in Tomorrowland to take home with us.
TBH we have a REAL hard time turning down merch with Binx on it! He’s our fav!
Magic Kingdom Construction Update
TRON Coaster
We can’t wait to ride the TRON Lightcycle Power Run when it finally debuts in Disney World next year for the 50th anniversary! We’ve been checking out the construction progress in the parks recently and we get more and more excited every time we see the Cast Members hard at work on the attraction.
There is a whole lot of the outdoor track visible to guests as they zoom around Tomorrowland before entering back inside the Grid! Disney hasn’t given too much detail on whether the ride would actually be making its debut on time next year, but we’ll keep you updated!
Well, that’s all for this What’s New at the Magic Kingdom! We’ll catch you next time for more merchandise, food, and construction updates!
What are you looking forward to seeing the most in the parks? Let us know in the comments below!
