Well, it was bound to happen sooner or later.
We saw unbelievably HUGE crowds during Spring Break, but we haven’t really seen a lot of summer crowds over the last couple of weeks. Well, those days are long gone because when we arrived at Disney World this morning, the summer crowds SHOWED UP ahead of the Fourth of July holiday. Yep, y’all, it’s busy in Disney World right now.
When we arrived in Magic Kingdom this morning, there were a LOT of people waiting to get in. A LOT. This is the busiest we’ve seen Magic Kingdom in a while.
By the time we made it to Main Street, U.S.A., we noticed that it still felt VERY busy, with TONS of people heading towards Cinderella Castle.
After we navigated our way through all those people, we headed to Adventureland, where Pirates of the Caribbean already had a 60-minute wait.
However, Frontierland didn’t feel TOO bad — some of the crowds had dispersed by the time we got there.
In Tomorrowland, Space Mountain had a long line, though.

Hollywood Studios was also super busy when we arrived this morning — a lot of people were waiting to get in.
The crowds did not let up after we entered the park either. It’s VERY people-y out there today.
Things still felt busy as we made our way around the park, particularly around Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster.
Toy Story Land felt very busy, too.
So what should you do if you’re visiting Disney World while it’s this crowded? Well, the first thing is to have patience — long lines are going to be the norm during these busy times. However, you can always save a little time by purchasing Genie+ and Individual Lightning Lane (for those rides that offer it) to avoid standing in long ride lines.
We also recommend using Mobile Order for those quick-service restaurants that offer it (which is most of them) but don’t wait until peak lunch and dinner times. Order AHEAD of those times and just set your pick-up time for when you want to eat. Trust us — this will save you a LOT of time waiting on food.
Also, consider taking a midday break if the crowds start getting to be a bit too much. Go back to your hotel and grab a snack, nap, or even time in the pool. You can go back to the park a few hours later feeling refreshed and ready to tackle the crowds with a lot less stress.
Remember, you can’t always control the crowds in Disney World, but you can control how you react to them. So be patient, be flexible, and don’t forget that you’re still there to HAVE FUN.
We’ll continue to cover the crowds in Disney World through July 4th, so be sure to stay tuned to DFB for more.
