One of the best things about Halloween in Disneyland is the Haunted Mansion Holiday layover.

For a limited time, characters from Tim Burton’s The Nightmare Before Christmas take over the attraction in a spooky/festive fashion. We already knew that the Haunted Mansion Holiday would return beginning on September 1st, but now we know when the ride will have to CLOSE in order for the Cast Members to create the overlay magic.

Haunted Mansion will close in Disneyland on August 14th.

So far, the 14th is the only date that we can see for this closure, but we’re assuming that the attraction will remain closed for a couple of weeks until September 1st when the ride will reopen as Haunted Mansion Holiday.

This ride overlay typically lasts through the Christmas season, and last year we saw it stick around through early January.

Disneyland also hosts the Oogie Boogie Bash in Disney California Adventure, which is a super popular party. Tickets went on sale last week, but Disney’s website had technical difficulties, so they had to pause sales. More information about the sale is expected to be released on July 6th.
