There is SO much going on in Disney World right now — it’s hard to keep track of everything!
Disney’s Polynesian Village Resort
Splash Mountain is long gone and is becoming Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. New restaurants are being built at Disney’s BoardWalk and Disney Springs. The Moana attraction in EPCOT is coming right along. Now, let’s take a look at Disney’s NEW Disney Vacation Club villas that are coming together at Disney’s Polynesian Resort!
So the last time we checked in with updates on the new DVC buildings, we noticed that the buildings were growing taller. This is what it was starting to look like.

Well, now, we’ve noticed some blue scrims over parts of the building — could these be actual villa rooms where guests will someday stay?

You’ll also notice that there are still plenty of cranes, trucks, and other equipment on the work site, too.

It’s hard to believe this site was once just mostly dirt — these buildings have been going up pretty quickly. Here, you can see how close the villas will be to the rest of the Polynesian Resort. There’s still a pile of dirt between the villas and the existing structure, but it looks like something might going there eventually. Could this be the site of a future pool, maybe?

We’ll continue to keep an eye on the construction progress of these new villas and let you know when Disney announces an official opening date. It still looks like there’s quite a bit of work to be done, though, so it may be a while! It’s been interesting watching the structure of the resort go from a pile of dirt to this, though!
