REVIEW: Here’s the Secret to Getting TWO Meals in One at a Disney Character Buffet

Welcome back to Disneyland, friends!

Sleeping Beauty Castle in Disneyland

Disneyland has lots of exciting things happening — new menus were just announced for 5 restaurants, Tiana’s Palace has a sign in the park, Oogie Boogie tickets are getting ready to go back on sale, and so much more. But we think it’s time for us to return to a spot we haven’t visited in a while, so come with us to check out Goofy’s Kitchen!

Goofy’s Kitchen is tucked into a corner of the Disneyland Hotel, and is a buffet-style character meal that’s great for families with kids, or anyone who loves a fun character interaction with their breakfast AND lunch — yeah, we found a way to do both in one sitting!

Goofy’s Kitchen

Atmosphere

We loved that the signage for this restaurant was clear and we knew exactly where to go when we got close.

Now entering Goofy’s Kitchen!

Inside you’ll find a desk where you’ll check in for your reservation and will hang out in the themed area before your name is called.

We’ve made it!

You’ll be led to your table, where you’ll find silverware, salt, pepper, sugar packets, and a drinks menu.

Our table

While this is a buffet, any alcoholic drinks such as wine, bottled beer, draft beer, and hard siders will cost extra, and you’ll have to let your server know if you’d like to order any.

Drinks menu

The only seating for the restaurant is indoors and is made up of booths and tables. Overall, we love how colorful the restaurant is, and we think it makes it even more perfect for little ones, or those who are little at heart.

So many colors!

Onto the food!

Food

We went right at brunch time, so there was breakfast, lunch, and dessert out! The trick to getting “brunch” at a character meal is to book one of the last times for breakfast. We can’t guarantee it, but you can often get food items from both meals as the buffet transitions!

Time to eat!

Over at the breakfast area, you’ll find options like Mickey waffles, Mickey Pancakes, Scrambled Eggs, Sausage, Bacon, and so much more.

Breakfast!

More of a cereal person? There’s also a whole cereal section to eat from.

Cereal

If you’re feeling more like lunch, there’s a salad bar you can explore…

And options like chicken tenders, pasta, rice, seasonal vegetables, macaroni and cheese, and much more to choose from. There are plenty of options for pickier eaters, as well as a few for some who are feeling more adventurous.

So many options

And we can’t forget dessert! We spotted plenty of delicious options like peanut butter and jelly pizza, lemon bars, apple streusel, beignets, and cinnamon rolls, among others.

We want it all!

Not to mention there’s an area to make your own ice cream sundae!

You can choose from having it in a cone or a bowl…

…and add all the toppings your heart desires.

ALL THE TOPPINGS!

So what did we get? Well, for breakfast we grabbed some house potatoes, Mickey waffles, and a Mickey pancake, along with some sausage and bacon.

Our breakfast

Our favorites were the Mickey waffles, breakfast potatoes, and bacon. The Mickey waffles weren’t the prettiest batch but they were crunchy on the outside and warm in the middle with a sweet buttermilk flavor. The breakfast potatoes were warm and had a little kick to them, which we loved, and the bacon was the perfect mix of soft and crunchy with a great flavor. However, the Mickey pancakes were super thin, ripped pretty easily, and didn’t have a whole lot of flavor.

We devoured it all

For lunch, we snagged some chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, a piece of peanut butter and jelly pizza, and a piece of strawberry Nutella pizza. Our favorites were the chicken strips and peanut butter jelly pizza because while the chicken strips weren’t anything special, they’re a safe Disney staple. The peanut butter and jelly pizza is one of our favorite parts of Goofy’s Kitchen because it’s like PB&J but on soft pizza bread!

Our lunch

Now it’s time for dessert! We grabbed a slice of cake, lemon bar, jello, chocolate cake, and a worms in dirt cup.

Our dessert plate

We loved the worms in dirt cup because of that delicious chocolate sweet flavor, and the chocolate cake because it’s rich, gooey, and sweet. Our pro-tip is to put the cake at the bottom of your cup before making your sundae! Oh, and speaking of our sundae…

Our sundae

We made a delicious sundae that was a lot of fun to make and eat!

Characters

And we can’t forget about the characters! We got to see some characters walking around while we ate, like Pluto…

Pluto!

Chip

Chip!

…and Dale! They’re all dressing in their adorable chef attire.

It’s Dale!

But what about Goofy? Don’t worry, you can meet him near the dessert table or at the entrance!

We love you Goofy!

Overall

So do we recommend eating here? Well, it costs around $50 a person to eat here, and while some of the food isn’t the highest quality, you’re more paying for the experience and character meal, so if that’s what you’re looking for, we say make a reservation! It’s also good for big groups, picky eaters, and those who want a lot of fun while they eat.

Will you be making a reservation?
