Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster
Rock ‘n’ Roller Coaster Starring Aerosmith opened at Disney’s Hollywood Studios in July 1999. The indoor roller coaster was manufactured by Vekoma. It launches from 0 to 57 mph in 2.8 seconds and riders experience 5 Gs, making it one of Walt Disney World’s most intense rides.
The soundtrack, of course, consists of Aerosmith songs. Each coaster train plays a different song(s) during the ride experience. Some songs have updated lyrics. Here are the license plates and songs:
- 1QKLIMO: “Nine Lives”
- UGOBABE: “Love in an Elevator” and “Walk This Way”
- BUHBYE: “Young Lust”, “F.I.N.E.*” and “Love in an Elevator”
- H8TRFFC: “Back in the Saddle” and “Dude (Looks Like a Lady)”
- 2FAST4U: “Sweet Emotion” (live)
There have been rumors over the years that the ride would be updated to no longer include Aerosmith, potentially replacing them with another band. These rumors ramped up recently following a lawsuit against Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler for sexual assault.
In 2016, Disney digitally altered a hand gesture by Tyler that could be considered obscene.
The ride was also a 2002 opening day attraction in Walt Disney Studios Park at Disneyland Paris but was replaced by Avengers Assemble: Flight Force, which utilizes the same track.
