New Villain-Con Minion Blast grand opening merchandise is now available in the Evil Stuff gift shop at the attraction’s exit in Universal Studios Florida. The new attraction opened for technical rehearsals earlier this month, so it hasn’t technically had its grand opening just yet — though the release of these items may indicate it’s happening soon. Guests are currently able to experience the ride intermittently before its official opening later this summer (exact date to be announced).
Villain-Con Minion Blast Grand Opening Pin – $14
The pin resembles a VIP badge for Villain-Con International, with a purple “Grand Opening” ribbon hanging off the bottom.
The badge is orange with the Villain-Con logo and “VIP” on a purple stripe along the bottom.
Villain-Con is a fictional convention featured in the first “Minions” film. It’s the setting of the new attraction, with the premise being that this year’s Villain-Con is being held at Universal Studios Florida as a cover no one will suspect.
Villain-Con Minion Blast Grand Opening Shirt – $30
The accompanying shirt is blue, with the ride’s logo on the chest. Two Minions stand with variations of blasters on either side. These are not the blasters used on the attraction itself. “Grand Opening 2023 Universal Orlando Resort” is in white lettering along the bottom.

Minion Land at Universal Studios Florida
Minion Land has taken over most of Production Central, transforming it into Illumination Avenue. Minion Café has replaced the former Universal Studios’ Classic Monsters Cafe, and is joined by Bake My Day, Freeze Ray Pops, and Pop-A-Nana. You can take our full tour of Minion Café and check out all of the Bake My Day merchandise and treats. Read our Minion Land food reviews, too:

The attractions are the pre-existing Despicable Me Minion Mayhem and Villain-Con Minion Blast. The façade of Despicable Me Minion Mayhem was recently refurbished. Minions and other Illumination characters have meet-and-greets outside Illumination Theater.
Additionally, the back of the Transformers: The Ride show building has been painted teal blue to match the new land.
An entirely different Minion Land also exists at Universal Studios Beijing. However, at Universal Studios Japan, Minion Park is yet another separate land, with a clone under construction at Universal Studios Singapore. A different version of Minion Café exists at Universal Studios Hollywood.
