If you haven’t yet had the chance to visit Disney California Adventure Park to see Rogers: The Musical, you might be excited to know that a new on-stage look at the musical number What You Missed from the show has just been shared. This limited-time engagement is being performed at the Hyperion Theater through August 31, 2023.
What You Missed is an all-original musical number in Rogers: The Musical. In the story, a scrawny and weak Steve Rogers is injected with a super-serum that gives him heightened agility, strength and endurance to become Captain America, able-bodied to take on the enemy and save lives. While on a mission, Captain America selflessly decides to crash his plane into the Arctic to spare as many lives as possible, posing a major risk to his own life. After 70 years, he is discovered frozen in the arctic, but thankfully alive. This is where this musical number picks up: Steve Rogers wakes up in a hospital room and comes face-to-face with Nick Fury, who delivers a hilarious recount of the last 70 years in What You Missed.
As part of the Disney100 celebration at Disneyland Resort, the Hyperion Theater at Disney California Adventure Park presents Rogers: The Musical – an all-new, one-act live theater production performing for a limited time, June 30-Aug. 31, 2023. Inspired by the fictional musical number from the first episode of the Disney+ series Hawkeye, the real-life Rogers: The Musical tells the story of Steve Rogers – Captain America, including his relationship with Peggy Carter. The 30-minute show was brought to life through the creativity of Disney Live Entertainment, in partnership with book writer Hunter Bell and featuring music by Grammy-winning composer Christopher Lennertz.
