REVIEW: Who Has Two Thumbs and a New FAVORITE Magic Kingdom Snack? (Hint: It’s Me.)

We’ve said it before and we’ll say it again: Magic Kingdom is seriously lacking in the food department compared to other Disney World parks.

Sure, we have our favorites — the Spicy Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, the Cheeseburger Spring Rolls, the Cinnamon Roll from Gaston’s, and more, but we’re always on the hunt for something new we can add to our lineup. It looks like the Disney gods have heard our prayers because a new snack has popped up in Magic Kingdom!

There’s been a snack switcheroo in Magic Kingdom! Sunshine Tree Terrace has new Crispy Chicken Dumplings on the menu! For $8.49, you get five fried dumplings served with an orange-ginger glaze sauce.

Sunshine Tree Terrace has NEW dumplings!

But, you used to be able to get Fried Pork and Vegetable Pot Stickers here instead! This was one of our favorite quick (and pretty hidden) snacks in Magic Kingdom, so we’re interested to see how the new dumplings compare.

Ummm, okay — did we just find our new favorite Magic Kingdom snack?! These are PACKED with flavor. The exterior dumpling is perfectly fried golden brown, and had the perfect crispy texture without being hard. The chicken was tender and the green onions added a fresh pop to the dish.

Lookin’ good

But we especially LOVED the sauce. It was very orange-forward, with orange peel standing out (similar to how it would in an orange marmalade, but not that thick or sweet). The sweetness from the orange complemented the aromatic ginger in the sauce really well.

We would swim in this sauce if we could.

Seriously this is so good! You get five, so that is pretty reasonable for Disney standards, even though they are a little small. Since it’s fried, you want to eat it quickly to get the best experience. Otherwise, it can seem a tad greasy as it settles. We think you’ll enjoy these if you like the old pot stickers, as the new dumplings have even more flavor. If you’re not a fan of orange or ginger, you might want to consider skipping these!

YUM

Head over to Sunshine Tree Terrace to grab this new snack (and get a Dole Whip while you’re at it!). We’ll be keeping an eye out for more new snacks throughout Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for the latest!
