REVIEW: This Snack Looks Genuinely TERRIFYING in Disney World

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is finally BACK for the fall season, along with the iconic “Boo to You” parade, Disney’s Not-So-Spooky Spectacular fireworks, and all the treats to make your sweet tooth scream with excitement. All of that sounds fun, but what we’re really interested in is the FOOD!

Happy Halloween!

Did you know there are exclusive treats that are only available for purchase during the event (not during normal park hours)? Come with us to try a few of those special treats!

Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party is a seasonal Magic Kingdom event requiring a separate ticket for entry. In 2023, the event will take place on select nights from August 11th through November 1st. Although there are some Halloween treats available all day long in Magic Kingdom, others only come out for the party.

Right now, we’re heading to Sleepy Hollow Refreshments to try out the Headless Horseman Cupcake, Cinnamon Funnel Cake, and Char Siu Chicken Wings!

Sleepy Hollow Refreshments

The Headless Horseman Cupcake is made of a yellow cupcake topped with cream cheese buttercream, spicy cheese-flavored snacks, and a chocolate piece and costs $5.99.

Headless Horseman Cupcake

The cupcake itself here is just meh. It’s fine — just a normal vanilla cupcake! The icing melted quickly, which we found very odd. The “cheese piece” on top is actually a Hot Cheeto! It added an interesting crunch but didn’t offer a ton of spice or change the cupcake at all. This snack was good but not great.

The Cinnamon Funnel Cake is topped with pumpkin ice cream, drizzled with pumpkin-spiced caramel, and topped with a chocolate piece and costs $8.29.

Cinnamon Funnel Cake

This bad boy? Scrumptious. Incredible. It’s so sweet and crispy with a fairly subtle cinnamon flavor. The pumpkin ice cream and butterscotch chips really shine through — it’s like if a Pumpkin Spice Latte was a snack. It’s massive, so it’s easily sharable. If you don’t like pumpkin you won’t like this one, but our reporter said that this snack was their favorite one from Sleepy Hollow.

The Char Siu Chicken Wings are whole chicken wings glazed in char siu and topped with chili threads and garlic and cost $10.99.

Okay, y’all. We saw these and we got SCARED. We’re going to be very honest and say that these might have been the spookiest things we saw all night — they did NOT look very appetizing. We took a deep breath and tried them anyway. THEY ARE DELICIOUS. The meat was literally falling off the bone — so tender and moist. There’s no spice at all, just a really heavy garlic flavor that almost reminds us of a garlic-teriyaki sauce. The skin is deliciously crispy in some places, too. We would gladly get these again… if we had a wet wipe.

That’s it from Sleepy Hollow, but there are plenty more treats at the Halloween party. Make sure to check out ALL of the treats available at the party before you go.

Don’t want to pay extra for treats at Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party? Don’t worry — you can skip the restaurants and just trick-or-treat around the park instead. The candy is your typical Halloween goodies, but hey — it’s all sugar, right?
