Poutine Just Got a “PREMIUM” Upgrade in Disney World — What Changed?

We go to Disney Springs pretty regularly, mostly for the food.

Daily Poutine

Although we revisit some of our favorite restaurants time and again (Wine Bar George, Polite Pig, and Homecomin‘), there’s one quick service spot we haven’t been to in a while. But we’re going back because there’s been an upgrade…on fries (Okay, you had us at FRIES).

We’re talking about The Daily Poutine, a dining spot in Disney Springs that focuses on one thing and one thing only: poutine. But poutine is only good as its fries, right? So when we heard that the fries were now PREMIUM fries (according to the Disney Springs Instagram account), we thought, “Hey, we should go check that out.” Here’s what the fries previously looked like: they were wide, potato-y fries.

Cheeseburger Poutine

Well, the new PREMIUM fries might be a serious upgrade. We checked the fries out with the Canadian Poutine, and the first thing we noticed was that the price was slightly higher; the current price is $10.49. This is a traditional Canadian poutine with French Fries, Beef Poutine Gravy, and Cheddar Curds. Can’t go wrong with the classics, right?

Okay, so we also noticed that the fries are now a little skinnier, which made it easier to stack a few on a fork to get more than just one in our mouth at any given time (you know, PRIORITIES). We also just love the beef flavor of the gravy, which is nice and smooth. We got a TON of cheese curds, too, and you know how we feel about CHEESE! (Hint: we LOVE it!)

Fries are a little skinnier

We also decided to test out the new premium fries with the Butter Chicken Poutine. This is French Fries, Chicken, Tomato Curry Sauce, and Paneer Cheese. We’ll warn you now — this poutine is a little spicy! Not Disney spicy, but SPICY spicy! 🔥🔥🔥

Butter Chicken Poutine

For comparison’s sake, here’s the old Butter Chicken Poutine (before the “premium” upgrade). See the difference in the fries? The old ones were a little wider!

Oh, and the tomato curry sauce was  SO GOOD, and the chunks of chicken were tasty. We thought the paneer cheese was fine, but we didn’t get a lot on ours, so it didn’t add much flavor. Um…WE NEED MORE CHEESE.

Good flavors!

Overall, we think the new fries are, in fact, an upgrade, and you can never go wrong with poutine, right? We like that the portion size of this snack is big enough to be an actual meal, too, especially at a price point of just a little over $10. So this is a pretty good lunch option in Disney Springs.
