Something big has changed at the Moana attraction coming to EPCOT!

Journey of Water — Inspired by Moana is a walk-through attraction that’s set to open in the fall of 2023. We’ve already shared some news about Cast Member previews at this attraction and other updates that signal it’s getting closer and closer to its opening date. But now we’ve got a BIG update!

Some of the construction walls that once surrounded the Moana attraction have come DOWN! We stopped by EPCOT today to get an updated look at the space.

Now, keep in mind that some construction walls remain up nearby…

…but others are now down and have been replaced with hedges.

Over the hedges, you can get a little peek at the attraction!

The attraction is meant to be a “lush exploration trail” that allows guests to “play with magical, living water” through an immersive, self-guided walk-through experience. Disney has shared that guests will also “learn about the importance of the natural water cycle.” You can see a sign in one part of the attraction that specifically is for “The Water Cycle.”

We also got an updated look at one of the main decor pieces in the attraction. Here it is in real life…

…compared to the concept art Disney had shared a long time ago.

We can’t wait to see what the attraction will look like once it is fully finished and we can look inside. While walking around, you’ll want to look for familiar characters and shapes that are carved into the rocks and waterways (including Moana!), a giant Te Fiti figure, and much more.
