As of September 1, Halloween Time has returned to the Disneyland Resort, and with it, so has Haunted Mansion Holiday, the “Nightmare Before Christmas”-themed overlay at the Haunted Mansion in Disneyland Park.
Haunted Mansion Holiday Returns to Disneyland
From the entrance gate all the way up to the front porch, the mansion is fully decked out in holiday cheer, thanks to Jack Skellington.
A Sandy Claws scarecrow stands outside the mansion, perfectly fitting in with the other Halloween and holiday décor.
A countdown to Xmas
A long scroll featuring the “equation” for Christmas runs the height of the building, from roof to ground.
Even the pet cemetery got a holiday makeover with bows for each pet.
Inside, the theming continues through every inch of the Haunted Mansion, including the entryway and Stretching Room.
For this overlay, the Stretching Room is transformed into guests’ first encounter with Jack Skellington, dressed as Sandy Claws.
The portrait hallway also has an updated look, with new Halloween-to-holiday transforming portraits.
At the load area for the ride, a holiday display featuring many different characters from “The Nightmare Before Christmas” wishes you a merry (or scary) Christmas.
Continuing through the Mansion, every room has been transformed. The Endless Hallway is now Zero’s place to play, complete with a massive pile of bones.
Madame Leota’s séance room sees the fortune teller’s crystal ball turn into a floating holiday ornament, with Nightmare Before Christmas-themed tarot cards swirling about the space.
In the ballroom, a load of presents and Jack-o’-lanterns spill out from outside in a pile of snow.
This year’s gingerbread display is modeled as a mausoleum for “Von Ginger,” who is ready to share his fruitcake with the ghostly partygoers.
The attic of the mansion, which is also home to Constance Hatchaway and the Hatbox Ghost, is now filled with all sorts of merry and macabre presents from Sandy Claws.
Outside in the graveyard, the iconic spiral hill from the film can be seen, but this time it’s covered in snow and singing Jack-o’-lanterns.
It is “outside” where Jack appears with Zero, at the start of the graveyard scene.
After the graveyard, guests run into Oogie Boogie himself, who is ready for riders to spin his wheel of holiday tricks and treats.
Little Sally is among the last to say their goodbyes to riders as they leave the mansion.
