Disneyland Resort Magic Key holders can now pick up the first of four new collectible Haunted Mansion trading cards featuring iconic characters from the ride and the Cast Members who brought them to life.
We got ours at Disneyana on Main Street, U.S.A. in Disneyland Park.
Singing Bust & Thurl Ravenscroft Haunted Mansion Trading Card
The first card in this four-card collection celebrates one of the five Singing Busts found in the graveyard scene of the classic attraction.
Each card is lenticular, and shows the ride character before changing to the Cast Member who helped bring them to life.
The person included alongside the Singing Bust on this card is none other than Disney Legend Thurl Ravenscroft, who voices Uncle Theodore, the second bust from the left in the row of five.
The back of the card shares some information about Ravenscroft’s contribution to the ride, as well as where else he’s lent his voice at the Disney Parks. Ravenscroft also provides the voice of Fritz in Walt Disney’s Enchanted Tiki Room, and Buff in Country Bear Jamboree.
Haunted Mansion Trading Cards
The four cards will be available one at a time to Magic Key Holders at Disneyland Resort during the month of September. Each week, a new card is released, with a new Mansion character and Cast Member on it.
The Disneyland Magic Key Instagram page previously shared a video of the Madame Leota card changing to Eleanor Audley, who voiced Leota.
The complimentary cards are available during regular operating hours at Disneyana, now through September 28, on Mondays through Thursdays only.
The Haunted Mansion
The Haunted Mansion has become one of Disney’s most iconic attractions since its opening at Disneyland in 1969 and on opening day at Walt Disney World in 1971. A clone of the Walt Disney World attraction opened at Tokyo Disneyland in 1983, and the ride has even served as the inspiration for a number of Disney attractions across the globe, including Phantom Manor and Mystic Manor.
The atmospheric ride strikes a delicate blend between funny and frightening that has charmed generations. The Disneyland version of the attraction received a major addition in 2015 when the Hatbox Ghost, an original effect removed from the ride due to technical difficulties, was re-added.
The Hatbox Ghost is due to debut at the Magic Kingdom version of the Haunted Mansion as part of the larger refurbishment that provided an updated look for Madame Leota, but he was not present when the ride recently re-opened. The Hatbox Ghost will occupy the Endless Hallway in the Walt Disney World mansion.
Disneyland recently revealed that they would be expanding the grounds of their Haunted Mansion to include a new gift shop and gardens.
ColourPop Cosmetics just announced a new makeup collection inspired by the live-action “Haunted Mansion” movie.
