I have been patiently waiting for this moment since Disney announced that Mirabel from Encanto would meet at Magic Kingdom. I am beyond excited to meet her and see how they transformed the area. This new offering is part of the many things that Disney is doing for Hispanic and Latin Heritage Month. Today, September 15th, 2023, is the first day that guests were able to meet her. Of course, I had my park reservation made ever since this was announced.
Before this area became the Casita we all know and love, this used to be where Merida from Brave met guests. So, the color palette and feel of the area were completely opposite of what Encanto is; there was a lot of green and gold along with no flowers. To make the space represent Mirabel and her story, Disney added bright flowers, Familia Madrigal character banners, and new colorful gates with a mural of the family that lead into the space. Let’s take a look at the area!

The Meet and Greet Experience
This meet and greet was calmer than the one for Figment at EPCOT. The wait was only 75 minutes, and thankfully, I packed my umbrella and fan because part of the line was directly in the sun. I was shocked that the wait time wasn’t longer, especially since it was opening day, but that worked out better for me in the end.
I was so happy. The minute I stepped into the area where Mirabel was greeting guests, I got chills not only because of how they transformed space but because seeing a character representing my culture was amazing. There were so many visitors speaking Spanish with her and so many younger travelers dressed like Mirabel and her family members. It was just so wholesome and beautiful.
When it was my turn to meet Mirabel, I was starstruck. We had a wonderful interaction. She even taught me a few dance moves. This is definitely a new core memory of mine. It’s important to note that a PhotoPass photographer is here to capture all the magical moments. Will you be stopping by to meet Mirabel on your next trip to Magic Kingdom?
