A new “Shop” tab advertising a film’s merchandise on shopDisney has been added to select titles on Disney+.

The tab is after the “Suggested,” “Extras,” and “Details” tabs. We first found the tab with the new “Haunted Mansion” film, which was added to Disney+ on October 4. The tab reads:

For “Haunted Mansion,” there is a picture of a Halloween shopping bag. There was also no code to scan, possibly because it is such a new title to the streaming platform.
We also found the tab on the live-action “The Little Mermaid” film, where a QR code was available, along with the link: shopdisney.com/shoplittlemermaid. On this tab, there is a picture of a “Little Mermaid” shopping bag under the sea.
“Haunted Mansion”
“Haunted Mansion” (2023) follows Ben (LaKeith Stanfield) in his attempts to help single mom Gabbie (Rosario Dawson) and her son Travis (Chase Dillon) after they move into a haunted home. They are assisted by the priest Kent (Owen Wilson), psychic Harriet (Tiffany Haddish), and Professor Bruce Davis (Danny DeVito). The film heavily features the Hatbox Ghost, portrayed by Jared Leto.
“Haunted Mansion” is directed by Justin Simien from a screenplay by Katie Dippold. It’s produced by Dan Lin and Jonathan Eirich. This is the second attempt to adapt the classic ride into a film, following the poorly received 2003 “The Haunted Mansion” directed by Rob Minkoff and starring Eddie Murphy.
Director Guillermo del Toro was also attached to make a new “Haunted Mansion” film and even turned in a script a decade ago, but this never came to fruition.

“The Little Mermaid”
The live-action remake of Disney’s classic “The Little Mermaid” was directed by Rob Marshall. It stars Halle Bailey as Princess Ariel, Jonah Hauer-King as Prince Eric, Daveed Diggs as Sebastian the crab, Awkwafina as diving bird Scuttle, Jacob Tremblay as Flounder, Javier Bardem as King Triton, and Melissa McCarthy as Ursula. Noma Dumezweni portrays a new character, Eric’s mother Queen Selina.
Alan Menken, who wrote the score for the original 1989 “The Little Mermaid,” made some lyrical updates for the live-action remake, with help from Lin-Manuel Miranda.
“The Little Mermaid” (2023) had one of the most successful Disney+ movie premieres.
