Let’s face it — long holiday weekends often bring crowds to Disney World.
It’s not just us, either. It seems like Disney World has been expecting crowds this weekend. We saw the price of Genie+ go up to its highest price that we’ve seen in over a month, and that price went up even higher as of October 8th. That means demand for the service is up, meaning that there are crowds in the parks. Well, that’s exactly what we saw in Magic Kingdom.
When we parked at the Transportation and Ticket Center this morning (which is where you park when you’re headed to Magic Kingdom), we noticed that there were a LOT of people there. Let’s just say the line for the Monorail to Magic Kingdom was LONG.
We also had to wait in a long line to get INTO the park — note that this was AFTER the rope drop crowds had entered.
Main Street, U.S.A., was also very full of people — LOADS of people.
Adventureland also felt pretty packed.
The line for Big Thunder Mountain Railroad was at 65 minutes and stretched WAY out into Adventureland.
Fantasyland also felt VERY crowded.
It was also crowded around Cinderella Castle. Good luck getting that photo op!
Liberty Square also felt very full.

As we mentioned, Genie+, which uses surge pricing, is at the highest price we’ve seen in a while. Today, the price was $29 for both the Magic Kingdom and Multi-Park option. EPCOT is $18, Hollywood Studios is $22, and Animal Kingdom is $16.
Needless to say, we expect to continue to see these crowds through tomorrow as part of the holiday weekend. So if you’re headed to Disney World during this time, be sure to pack a lot of extra patience.
We’ll continue to keep an eye on the crowds in Disney World, so stay tuned to DFB for more.
