If you plan to travel through the Orlando Airport soon, you may need to prepare for some bad news. We all know that weather-related flight delays and cancelations happen constantly, but sometimes, flight plans can change even on a clear, sunny day.
Thousands of travelers flying in and out of Orlando International Airport are dealing with major flight cancelation news.
On Friday, October 20th, at least 45 Spirit Airlines flights were canceled at Orlando Airport, according to local news affiliate Click Orlando.
Spirit Airlines stated that the cancelations are due to ongoing aircraft inspections. In fact, Spirit noted in a statement that flights may be impacted over a multi-day period:
“While this action is being taken out of an abundance of caution, the impact to our network is expected to last several days as we complete the inspections and work to return to normal operations. We apologize for the inconvenience and are working to take care of affected Guests. Our Guests are advised to monitor their email and check their flight status on spirit.com or the Spirit Airlines App before heading to the airport.”
Click Orlando reported that 25 planes will be inspected. If you were planning to fly with Spirit over the weekend of October 20th, you may need to rethink your travel plans.
